Good news is in the air for The CW fans.
Announced today via press release, The CW has renewed Arrow and veteran shows The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural for another season. All three shows will be getting a second, fifth and ninth season respectively for the 2013-2014 season.
“We said last year that one of our goals was to establish building blocks to grow on, and now with our new hit Arrow and fan favorite Supernatural on Wednesday night, and the continued success of The Vampire Diaries on Thursday, we’ve been able to do that,” network president Mark Pedowitz said in a statement. “Not only do Arrow, Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries
perform well on-air, they’re also extremely successful for us both
digitally and socially. I’m thrilled to have all three shows returning
to our schedule next season.”
While not surprising to hear from fans, all three renewed shows have dominated the network with being the current three highest-rated programs. The real surprising news was that this early pick-up was revealed in February; the network usually reveals renewals and cancellations around April/May.
Still no word has been revealed about new or "on-the-bubble" shows like Hart of Dixie, The Carrie Diaries, 90210, Cult, Beauty and the Beast, and Nikita.
Were these three shows on your renewal wish list? Which other CW programs will make the cut... or the axe? Post below and share your predictions for this spring.
