The curtain has been called for The CW's remaining low-rated (but fan favourite) series. At the annual 2018-2019 Upfronts, the youth-skewing network revealed that three of their returning series will be coming to an end in the upcoming TV season. The end had to come sometime for these TV shows, but it's sad to see!
Both iZombie and Jane The Virgin will be ending at the end of their fifth season. In the case of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, the low-rated show will be ending after four seasons.
While none were superstars in the ratings, all three had built dedicated followings and attention from both fans and critics alike. Jane The Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend earned wins at prestigious awards shows, like the Golden Globes - this was the first time that The CW had been in contention at all. iZombie, on the other hand, had built a cult fan following and earned a financial deal thanks to Netflix streaming.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend's final season will premiere this fall on Fridays, while iZombie and Jane The Virgin are being held to midseason. None of the shows will be placed on Sunday, which The CW recently announced as their newest day for their weekly schedule.
Out of the three shows, I've watched iZombie the most. I love this show! Thanks to the Netflix deal, I've been keeping up with the weekly episodes (and I also have a Funko toy of Liv). Jane The Virgin is also another one that grew on me over the years. I'm a little behind on the recent season, but it's a fun telenovela with great characters.

Is this the best month ever?! I think it might be. The CW has recently announced two renewals for their current midseason shows. Riverdale, a dark interpretation based on the Archie Comics, and The 100, based on the novel of the same name, are coming back for another season.
This is incredible news! Not just because I am a fan (I currently cover Riverdale on TV Fanatic - check it out), but also because these are great shows. With these renewals, Riverdale will be back for a second season while The 100 will get a fifth season.
Riverdale and The 100 join a long list of other shows already renewed by The CW. However, iZombie, The Originals, Frequency and No Tomorrow are currently left up in the air. If I was a betting man and had to make a few guesses, I think it's going to come down between iZombie and The Originals. No Tomorrow and Frequency didn't have the same media attention as the other shows on the network. The other two are current staples on the network and have already produced plenty of episodes for syndication/Netflix/Hulu.
As much as I love both iZombie and The Originals, I think The Originals may edge out the former for a chance at renewal. I recently did a binge-watch of iZombie and it seems like it's gearing up for a final storyline with the zombie war. The Originals is similar to The Vampire Diaries, as in they could find a reason to keep it going for a while. On the other hand, it may be cheaper to produce iZombie instead. We're talking about The CW here, nobody knows what will happen until it's decided.

There's a new queen bee ruling the world of smize and booty tooch, and the choice may be a bit surprising. Revealed Friday by VH1 (and initially appearing on Deadline), British pop singer Rita Ora will serve as host of America's Next Top Model when it moves over to VH1 for its new season. Departing host Tyra Banks will still serve as executive producer.
Rita Ora, who has amassed hits in the U.K. and some familiarity in North America, has partly made her TV judging career with U.K. shows, like The X Factor. Ora will be joined on the judging panel with:
- Paper Magazine Chief Creative Officer Drew Elliott
- Celebrity stylist Law Roach
- Supermodel Ashley Graham
I'm ecstatic that America's Next Top Model is coming back to TV. I'm a reality TV fan and, if you can believe, I've watched every season of the show. While the eliminations and winners are highly debatable (I'm talking heated back-and-forth with friends), this is a guilty pleasure I need in my life.

Supergirl is making a super move over to a new station. One of television's breakout freshman shows is finding a new home on the CBS sister network, The CW, for its upcoming second season. Announced Thursday among a slew of other TV renewals and cancellations, Supergirl's fate was left up in the air as CBS determined costs for the bubble show.
While the show started off strong for the 2015-2016 season, the show ultimately declined in ratings to a respectable 10 millions viewers, with DVR numbers included. Rumours were popping up that the show may have been moving to The CW, where the network is home to other superhero shows. With this news confirmed, Supergirl will also be moving production to Vancouver to be filmed near other network shows, like Arrow and Flash.
In addition to the Supergirl renewal, The CW announced the cancellation of Containment and three new series pickups. Riverdale, the modern adaption of the Archie Comics, has been picked up to series, along with Frequency and No Tomorrow. For more about these new shows, I briefly discussed them when the network had ordered their pilots.
I'm VERY excited to see Riverdale - it looks to be an interesting take on the show and could prove refreshing with the superhero shows on the network. As a fan of The CW programming, it will be on my must-watch list for the upcoming TV year.

Archie and friends are getting a makeover for a new generation. The soda pop gang, who still rules the Sunday morning comics, is potentially being revamped into a brand new TV series on The CW. Receiving a pilot episode order, Riverdale is a modern take on the comic book series. The show will follow the lives of Archie, Betty, Veronica and their friends as they move through quiet small town life and discover the secrets of Riverdale.
Riverdale joins a collection of five other pilots ordered by the younger-skewing network. There's period piece Transylvania, which is about a young woman in search of her father while fighting infamous monsters, a romantic-comedy No Tomorrow, a TV remake of Frequency, the Untitled Mars Project set on the red planet, and the equally mysterious Kevin Williamson pilot.
The CW has been having a great year in terms of their TV shows and ratings. They struck gold in awards season and fans are loving their high-concept shows, especially their superhero dramas. However, they didn't pick up many new shows last year, and it's expected that a few of their older series could be getting the axe this year. America's Next Top Model and Beauty and the Beast are already cancelled, but who could be next to make room? Reign? Crazy Ex-Girlfriend? The Vampire Diaries? The unaired Containment?
If I had a choice, I would love to see Riverdale, the Kevin Williamson pilot, Transylvania and the Untitled Mars Project (in that order) get a series order. But we're talking about The CW here...we'll never know what they decide until May 2016.

The world is about to be "smize"-less with today's latest cancellation news. After 22 cycles on the air, America's Next Top Model is walking down the runway for the last time. The modeling competition, created by former supermodel Tyra Banks, is ending its longstanding run this year on The CW at the end of their current season. The gem that brought us "no neck", "booty tooch" and an endless array of GIFs is officially over.
Launched in 2003 on UPN, America's Next Top Model (also abbreviated as ANTM) found a home with fans and aspiring models during the early reality TV craze. Viewers connected with all the cattiness, drama and aspirations of competing to be in the modeling world. While ratings have fallen since its early days (the show now averages around a 0.3 rating), ANTM still launched the careers of many models and lasted on the air for an incredible 22 seasons.
ANTM will forever be known for its GIF-worthy scenes and iconic reality TV moments. Especially for this perfection that most remember:

Alright everyone...let's take a minute and brace ourselves for potentially the best entertainment news of the week! The 2015-2016 television season is going to be a big year for The CW with their incredible, and early, renewal news. Announced today at the Television Critics Association (TCAs), The CW is ready to bring back eight (yes, eight!) TV shows for another year. It might be January 11th but it's already feeling like Christmas to me.
As a TV buff and fan of The CW's programming, I'm excited to hear that many of my favourite TV shows are returning. Which of the lucky TV shows are coming back? Established hits like Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries and Arrow will be returning for a Season 11, Season 7 and Season 4 respectively. Sophomore shows The Originals, Reign and The 100 will be getting their third seasons while freshman newbies Jane The Virgin and The Flash have scored a second season each.
It's not uncommon for The CW to dole out early group renewals, as the network did renew five TV shows last February. However, as the network only has 10 hours of programming to fill on their schedule per week, eight TV shows seems like a lot to hear in January no less. With Jane The Virgin and The 100 not pulling in the best ratings at the moment, and Reign and The Originals feeling the sophomore slump, I'm glad to hear that fans of the eight shows can breathe a sigh of relief - myself included. It's no guarantee that all will appear on the Fall Schedule; some may be relegated to midseason.
Speaking of the scripted midseason shows, no word yet on the current renewal status of Hart of Dixie, Beauty and the Beast or the two new freshman shows, iZombie and The Messengers. A decision will most likely be revealed this May. Hart of Dixie is currently airing on Fridays but fans can be prepared for the premiere of iZombie on March 17th and The Messengers on April 10th. Beast is potentially set for sometime either April or May (nothing confirmed yet).

History has a way of repeating itself. While other times...it just likes to close loose ends. The real story of what happened in 1919 was revealed and we finally got a closer look into what drove the Originals away from New Orleans. Death, sex, torment, and a familiar face from The Vampire Diaries made a reappearance.
This week on The Originals, Rebekah and Marcel try to flee New Orleans, Klaus sheds some 1919 history on Cami, Hayley tries to break the werewolf spell, and Elijah looks to defeat Celeste at long last.
RUN AWAY FROM THE PAIN
Klaus has called an all-out war against Rebekah and Marcel for what they did in 1919. He no longer can look at his sister without the feeling of wanting to rip her head off. Before he can even listen to reason, Papa Tunde's blade needs to be removed from his chest. Elijah, the always responsible brother, reached into Klaus' chest and pulled out the blade, much to the dismay of Cami - and everybody else watching. (Seeing the cut and blood reminded me of why I didn't become a doctor, gross.) Cami tries to reason with her friend, offering her blood up to heal him; the vervain has no effect on Klaus as he puts it, "the will to live is stronger." However, Klaus is not listening to her pleas - he will kill Rebekah and he'll use the white oak staff that he stole from Mystic Falls to do it.
THE MORE POWERFUL CURE
Celeste is an all powerful witch yet she was easily captured by Hayley? The werewolf mother-to-be kidnapped Celeste in last week's episode with the purpose of freeing her werewolf clan from the curse that was cast decades before. Celeste inhabited the body of Brin Deveraux when she made the curse and only she can break it. Elijah, planning to stop Celeste from jumping into another body, is unsure of how to eliminate his foe but his former lover is one step ahead of it. Kill her and Hayley loses the cure but keep her alive and Hayley's people will go free. Ultimately, Elijah hands Hayley the cure and will find a way to stop Celeste now that he has possession of her.
PHANTOM OF THE OPERA
Cami is still clinging to hope that Klaus will spare Rebekah and Marcel from death, but the hybrid Original isn't budging. Instead he decides to go down memory lane and reveal to Cami the truth of 1919 and why he hates Rebekah. In 1919, the Originals reunited New Orleans to bring peace between the humans, the vampires and the werewolves; even Klaus was casually hooking up with the werewolf pack leader. Life was looking great until Mikael - the Originals' father who was called by Marcel, Rebekah and Genevieve - traveled to New Orleans to kill Klaus. Mikael not only killed the werewolf pack leader, presumably Marcel as well, but set fire to the opera house, potentially killing hundreds of people, with the plan of eliminating anyone in New Orleans who knew of Klaus and his good deeds.
WITCHY WAYS
Tiery
is back but still useless as ever. He makes an offering to the Elder
witches by giving them information on Rebekah and Marcel's whereabouts
in exchange for something: their lives. The witches attack but Marcel
easily decapitates Bastianna's head but Genevieve manages to escape. Why the attack? Marcel will not leave New Orleans without
Davina and based on Monique's return after Papa Tunde died, the death of
the Elder witches could resurrect his fallen friend. At this count, two
Elder witches are dead!

TRUE MOTIVES
Celeste is ready to jump into the next body and she can only do so by death. She's played around with Elijah and enjoyed talking with him, but she's tired of using Sabine's body. Celeste slits her throat and her spirit moves on; however, the plan backfired. Instead of traveling to a different body and possessing another witch, her spirit returned to her original body. Elijah, distrustful of his former lover, sought out Monique's help to perform a spell that would trap Celeste back in her original body. With the Elder witch back to her form, Elijah eliminated his threat, but will this be the last of Celeste?
CAT AND MOUSE
Before Celeste "died" and moved from Sabine's body, she placed a curse on the cemetery. Until the rise of the next moon, no Original could be freed if they stepped foot in the graveyard. Elijah became trapped while walking with Celeste and Rebekah unknowingly stepped inside while helping to remove Davina's body. The problem? Klaus is now in the graveyard - with the white oak stake - and plans to finish his sister off for the betrayal she has caused him.

The Olympics are over and that can only mean one thing: the hiatus is over too! Every two years, rotating from summer to winter, TV shows takes a break while for a few weeks while the ratings hit sports event dominates the airwaves. Don't get me wrong - I like the Olympics... but I also like my scripted and reality shows as well. Now that the break is done, I can get back to some other problems, like catching on the last cliffhanger!
This week on The Originals, Elijah and Marcel search for Klaus and Rebekah, secrets are revealed about Genevieve's past, and sibling rivalry comes back in full force.
LET'S PLAY A GAME
Sophie is dead. Gone. Resting in the family crypt and won't be coming back, especially since the actress is in a new NBC pilot. Picking up from the last episode, the witches are laying Sophie's body to rest but Elijah has another idea. He disturbs the ceremonial burial (with a few fists and elbows - he snapped two necks with ease) and demands that Monique tell him where Celeste has hidden his missing siblings. I'm not sure what Monique did on the other side but apparently she lost a bit of her mind. She casually smiles at the Original and sends him a message from Celeste - covering his entire body in names and telling him to solve the mystery to find his siblings.
The mysterious names, which included Sabine's, were deduced to be the former inhabitants of Celeste's possessed soul. By solving the mystery the names would disappear but which name was it? The name belonged to a witch named Clara, and while Elijah couldn't recognize her face from an old photo Hayley found - Marcel sure did and he had some explaining to do.
CRAZY FOR YOU
Rebekah and Klaus aren't far; they're not even outside of New Orleans. After the attacks from Genevieve and Bastianna, they were taken to the abandoned Fleur-de-Lis Sanitarium where each was tortured in two separate methods: Klaus with physical pain from Papa Tunde's blade and Rebekah with delirious visions. Rebekah's personal torture may have been the worst. She's still infected from the werewolf bites, she can't use her powers and she's seeing the deceased bodies of ghosts. Genevieve has her own reasons for hating Rebekah - after all, the Original daughter did kill her!
MY FRIEND, MY BACKSTABBER
From photos uncovered by Cami, we knew a little bit about Klaus and group's past in New Orleans; this time we found out more about Rebekah and Marcel's dark secret in 1919. The lovestruck pair plotted to have Mikael, the Mikaelson's father and resident vampire hunter, come to New Orleans to distract Klaus so the pair could escape and be together. For this to ultimately happen, Rebekah needed the help of a witch to contact Michael, that's where Genevieve came in.
In the past, both Genevieve and Rebekah worked at the hospital during the tuberculosis outbreak as nurses. Rebekah took a shine to her new friend and invited her, along with Clara, out for drinks and jazz merriment. Turns out that the Elder witch has a thing for Klaus and while using this new friendship, Rebekah manipulated her friend into sending a message out to Mikael. Unfortunately for their plans, they had second thoughts to cancel the spell but the damage was done. Rebekah couldn't let her betrayal come to light and have Klaus find out, she had to tie up loose ends. She forced a bloody rag down both Genevieve's and Clara's mouth, causing the pair to become infected with tuberculosis and die a slow death. Celeste was inhabiting Clara's body at the time - she could be free to move on to the next body but Genevieve, on the other hand, died.

REBEKAH!!
While Rebekah ran desperately throughout the building, Genevieve was taking Klaus down memory lane, spilling every dark secret about why Michael discovered them in New Orleans. Klaus, at first, doesn't believe his sister could do that but Genevieve is great a convincing him.She offers him her blood and Papa Tunde's blade to kill his devious sister and after a few fights, the rebellious Mikaelson is ready to silence his sister forever. Marcel and Elijah break up the fight in time and Elijah stabs his brother with the blade, stopping him in his pursuit to kill Rebekah and Marcel...only for now.

Let the good news begin! The CW, arguably one of the most unpredictable broadcast networks, has announced early season renewals for five of their programs. Freshman dramas The Originals and Reign were both picked up for a second season while returning favourites Arrow, Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries were each picked up for a third, tenth and sixth season respectively.
While this is great news for fans of these shows, no news has been revealed about The CW's remaining bubble series The Tomorrow People, The Carrie Diaries, Hart of Dixie and Beauty and The Beast. Renewal and cancellation announcements will probably be revealed closer to May - The CW's annual TV upfronts - and after when both The 100 and Star-Crossed premiere in the coming weeks.
It's no secret that I'm super excited to hear this news. I love the programming on The CW (even providing recaps for The Originals and The Carrie Diaries, with more shows to come) and with the smaller number of series on the network, it's become an interesting topic to determine which shows get renewed and which get cancelled. Now that five programs were renewed and Nikita finished its run back in December, the debate just got a lot more interesting.

The end is almost nigh for Carrie's life in Castlebury. It's Graduation Day and the Castlebury group of friends are saying goodbye to their old lives as they move to the next stage in life. No word yet on if The Carrie Diaries will return for a third season; it's ratings have been stable and it's started to grow in its timeslot but we're talking about The CW. Anything could happen come May! Here's hoping the show comes back for another year.
This week on The Carrie Diaries, Carrie receives devastating news as she starts her new life, Maggie suspects Pete is cheating, Mouse runs in to an old flame, and Larissa sets the wedding of the century.
STOPPING BEFORE THE START
High school is gone! Done! This means that the Castlebury setting is over and the characters will be heading to the city (or their respective places) more often come next season. Picking up from the last episode, Carrie has accepted the job at Interview over attending NYU in the fall. Tom is not happy with her decision; she's on her own from this point out and he wishes that she made the right choice. On her first day of work, Carrie is shocked to hear that Larissa has been fired from Interview due to an article she was in but there's more to the story: Carrie was let go as well! She is close friends to Larissa, somewhat like a protege, and the Publisher decided to cut them both in one big swoop.
SUNNY FUN TIMES
Carrie's attempt at getting back into NYU is a failed cause; she turned down her acceptance and even if she made a cause to get back in, she wouldn't be able to go until the spring of next year. Sebastian, unsure of how to tell Carrie he's heading to California, is somewhat relieved to hear that she no longer has any commitments in New York. He invites her to join him in Malibu, enjoying the sun, sand and romantic times together until she has to come back - if she wants to come back. Even with advice yet again from Weaver, Carrie's still not sure what she really wants to do.
RUNAWAY CASE
Samantha is not one for relationships; she hates all the complications and wants to keep things simple. Elliot - her open marriage bed buddy - pops back into her life and plans a surprise meeting, Samantha pushes the guy away and demands that he leaves. She's always had a soft spot for him and ends up hooking up with him yet again; much to the dismay of Samantha. This latest hook up is making her think about her future and leaving the city may be her only shot to get away from Elliot.
867-5309/JENNY
Maggie is in love with her army guy, Pete. She's excited that her new school is closer to Pete's army base and they'll get to spend more time together. Though, something's up. Pete's acting a bit mysterious and when Maggie looks into his jacket pocket for chapstick, she finds a girl's number in his pocket. Donna and Walt thinks he's cheating and after placing a call, the mysterious Jenny hangs-up the phone. Maggie is not one to keep things quiet; she confronts Pete at the laundromat and finds out he's not cheating - he has an engagement ring and he proposes to her! She accepts but I'm thinking she's rushing into this. I mean, she's 18 years old and just graduated from school. Rushing much?
CASTLEBURY'S BEST AND BRIGHTEST
Mouse is the new valedictorian...and so is her ex-boyfriend, West. The former flames have yet to reconcile and their interactions are annoyance at best. The valedictorian gift is a set of encyclopedias but unfortunately for them, there's only one set and they'll have to share. Neither is willing to compromise on the letters! After some sarcastic (and truthful) words from the janitor, the pair reconcile and hook up one last time on the floor of the high school. The encyclopedias will be donated to someone else and both will end on good terms as Mouse heads to Harvard and West moves to Princeton.
I DO (BUT I CAN'T)
Larissa's wedding is the event of the year, taking place at a larger-than-life airport terminal. Bennett is officiating the ceremony and everyone is there to celebrate, including Tom. As Larissa speaks her vows to Harlan, Carrie begins to have second thoughts about her move to Malibu and leaving everyone behind on the East Coast. She tells Sebastian that she's no going with him and through a tearful confession, the pair say their final goodbyes, potentially forever.

LOOKING TO THE FUTURE
Carrie is ready to pick up the pieces of her crumbling life. Larissa lets Carrie sublet her place for $550 a month (the 80s were tough for renters, weren't they?) and Carrie makes peace with her father, promising to stand on her own two feet and go to school. The young Ms. Bradshaw makes one final call to someone to come over and the mysterious person is Samantha. The future Samantha has made peace with Elliot after he left his wife and now she's changing her tune to leave the city. Carrie asks Samantha if she wants to live together on the condition that Samantha doesn't take Carrie's underwear. (Apparently Samantha has done away with underwear altogether!) The pair are now roommates and Carrie starts her new life in the city waiting tables until the next chapter begins.

Someone from New Orleans' past is running rampant on The Originals. After the end of last week's thrilling conclusion, not much was revealed about the mysterious witches who returned from the dead. When one of the enemy witches strikes first, Klaus and his "allies" (I guess they're now working together?) must stop the witch before it's too late.
This week on The Originals, a powerful foe attacks the vampires, Marcel slips into depression, and Rebekah's hidden secret is revealed.
POWER FROM WITHIN
In New Orleans, there's always a new threat to fight for another day. The foe for this week is Papa Tunde, a resurrected fallen elder who channels the powers of others to use his voodoo spells. Papa Tunde is the first of the mysterious witches to return and as we find out through flashblacks, he hates the Mikaelsons (especially Klaus) for killing him in 1919 and his twin sons. Back with a vengeance and help from Celeste, he traps Rebekah in one of his mystical sacrificial markings and channels her powers to fight the remaining Mikaelsons when the time comes.
UNITED WE STAND
Klaus has had a hard time earning the respect from the vampires of New Orleans. They despise him and would prefer if Marcel were back in charge to lead but that is no longer the case. After the discovery of two dead vampires in one of Papa Tunde's markings, Marcel warns the group of the voodoo magic while Klaus calls on for more back-up. The group, seemingly uneasy with the plan, refuses to attack and when Klaus calls a city-wide meeting of the New Orleans vampires, he states that if anyone wants to leave instead of following him, they can. A few of the vampires take his offer to depart, including recently freed Tiery.
DOWN IN THE DUMPS
Marcel is broken now that Davina is gone. Is she dead? Is she simply in limbo? No one knows the truth but Sophie has an idea: the Harvest did work but someone stole the power to resurrect the Elder witches instead. The idea is sound, in fact it's absolutely what happened - smart deduction, Sophie! Marcel decides to seek out a friend to share his grief and reaches out to Cami of all people; she's playing this smart time and has admitted to drinking Vervain to no longer be compelled. Though, I've got a bone to pick with the writers as they messed up with an important fact later on.
THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE
Papa Tunde wants to torture Klaus for his past and the best way to do so is attack someone close to him: Marcel. The voodoo warlock storms the bar and begins attacking Marcel to finish the job; causing Cami to retreat and call Klaus for help. Meanwhile across town, Elijah and Hayley realize that if they free Rebekah from her spell then Papa Tunde will no longer channel her power and he will become weak. Hayley's blood breaks the seal and the warlock loses his power but this distraction was only part of his plan. Papa Tunde has been stealing the powers of vampires across New Orleans, including killing off everyone hidden in the Garden and sacrificing himself, to channel enough energy into his blade so that it can kill an Original.

THE NEXT CHAPTER
A new piece to the 1919 puzzle is added this week as Rebekah and Marcel's part in the twist is revealed. Marcel called on Papa Tunde to visit New Orleans in 1919 with the hopes of causing Klaus to flee New Orleans so that Marcel could be with Rebekah. The plan ultimately failed but a new idea was sparked into motion. With the help of a witch (the same second Elder witch who returned), Rebekah and Marcel could locate Mikael, the Mikaelsons' father, to return to New Orleans and fight Klaus.

Prom. It's a magical night of bad dancing, blown allowances and great expectations to experience the best night of your life. Don't get me wrong - I liked my prom but actually living it, it's not the same as in TV or movies. Since The Carrie Diaries is a TV show, tons of drama, make-ups and break-ups are bound to ensue.
This week on The Carrie Diaries, Carrie and friends head to New York for prom, Larissa gives Carrie an ultimatum, Walt is conflicted over his life, and Mouse learns Donna's shameful secret.
A PICTURE-PERFECT NIGHT
Prom is only a few days away and the Castlebury friends are mixed over their plans for the big night. Sebastian is banned from attending after being expelled from school so Carrie, along with Mouse and Walt, are going solo. Maggie decides to bail on Pete instead to go as a group with her friends to the local inn where the prom is being held. Thanks to the fundraising from Mouse and overwhelming car wash sales from Donna, the aspiring prom queen uses the extra funds to change the prom's location to the Waldorf Astoria. They're heading to New York for prom!
FINDING HAPPINESS
Walt is a little uncomfortable heading back to the city; it reminds him of his break-up with Bennett, especially after deciding to hide his true self to return home. Maggie convinces him to attend and while at first he seems happy, he gets frustrated at Carrie when she tries to relate to his problems. Newsflash Carrie: deciding between a work life and going to school is not the same as Walt's real life issues!
Carrie apologizes for her comments and tells Walt that he should experience his own happiness the way he wants. He reaches out to Bennett and the pair reunite, becoming boyfriends again and reigniting their relationship. With the easy part done, Walt has to admit to his parents that he wants to live his life the way he wants and after coming clean, Walt's father, while uncomfortable with the topic, comes to accept Walt as his son and will approve of whatever paths Walt makes in life.

DONNA'S DOUBLE LIFE
Mouse and Donna have an interesting friendship - they don't really have much in common but it somehow works. While organizing the fundraising cash, Mouse discovers Donna's secret: she got accepted to Columbia University and is, in reality, a brain. Donna only pretends to be dumb to be popular and it's all part of her plan to win prom queen. Unfortunately for her, the Jens, Donna's dim-witted minions, overhear her bragging to Mouse while at the prom and plot to reveal her lies to everyone. Donna ends up winning the crown and before it's placed on her head, the Jens rush the stage and reveal the truth. Donna's double life is public knowledge and her Castlebury classmates, while skeptical at first, accept their new prom queen as their own.
THAT'S SO IRONIC!
Dorrit is a bit of an 80's hipster. She's refuses to conform to the norm and doesn't want to attend prom unless it's ironically. Scott, her boyfriend but not defined boyfriend, convinces her to attend unless they can make a joke out of it. Pretty dresses, spiking the punch, dancing formally and renting a limo - Dorrit is actually starting to have a great time. The next day when Scott comes clean of his master plan - manipulating Dorrit in the process for the entire scheme, it impresses her enough to define him as her real boyfriend
THE FUTURE AWAITS
Carrie and Sebastian are finally getting what they want...or will they? For Sebastian, he's getting to work on his skateboarding business career while staying in New York while Larissa surprises Carrie by offering her Bennett's vacated job. However there's a catch: Carrie's job is full-time and that means she'll have to make a tough choice whether to take the Interview job or go to NYU in the fall. Sebastian tries to offer support and her friends give her their advice but the strangest advice may have tipped the scales.
Weaver, Carrie's ex-boyfriend, reappears out of nowhere on prom night to apologize to Carrie about everything he's done. She accepts his apology and takes into consideration his opinion to take the Interview job. In the end, Carrie accepts the job and tells Tom but he's not happy at all! He cuts Carrie off financially unless she goes to NYU and now she's left to fend for herself after high school, depending on her income to survive. Sebastian, on the other hand, will be heading to California instead to start his business, bringing with him his new (and adorable!) dog Ollie in tow.

Something witchy is on its way to The Originals. I'm seriously in love with this show! While I'm still a huge fan of The Vampire Diaries and its fallen cousin show The Secret Circle (R.I.P.), I'm hooked on the drama that is coming from New Orleans. The storyline is fast-paced, I love the characters and there isn't a love triangle that's being drawn out for multiple seasons - it's like a breath of fresh air! I haven't decided yet if I'm going to pick up recaps for the remainder of the season but we won't know unless I start one...
This week on The Originals, Davina falls violently ill from her excess of magic, Sophie tries to resurrect the Harvest, and Klaus tips the scales in the favour of the witches.
MOTHER NATURE FIGHTS BACK
Davina is lost in a world of self-regret. After Klaus murders her childhood love Tim in the last episode, Davina's emotions are running wild; the pain causes her magic to accelerate and reach its breaking point - sending shockwaves throughout New Orleans. Earthquakes, strong winds, torrential rain, coughing up huge amounts of dirt and water - Davina's powers are becoming too strong for one person to handle. According to Sophie, unless Davina is sacrificed at the Harvest, her powers will call on the elements and destroy thousands of people; an idea that most are starting to reconsider. Marcel refuses to lose his dearest friend and decides to defy Klaus by taking Davina away, running from the house in hopes that her powers will subside.

AN ELDER CALLS
Even if Davina wanted to complete the Harvest, the ritual couldn't pass without the help of an Elder - which Klaus and Elijah murdered the last Elder early in the season. No new Elders mean no Harvest and without the powers of an Elder, no one can be designated as one. However, Sophie determines that if they consecrate the bones of an Elder witch, one who has not already been consecrated, she can become an Elder to perform the Harvest. They first try the bones of Celeste, Elijah's long lost love, but the bones are powerless and cannot be used. The only other dead witch left is Esther, the Original Witch and the Mikealson's mother, and after a debate with the group, the group consecrates Esther and her powers flow to the witches of New Orleans.
ALL FOR NOT
Davina's powers are becoming uncontrollable and all of New Orleans is set to perish unless the group finds a way to stop her before her fire element destroys all. With help from Tiery, Rebekah finds Marcel and Davina hiding out in a storage locker, determining their fate with the Harvest. Davina is ready to sacrifice her life if it guarantees it will save everyone and bring her back in the end. Unfortunately for her, the Harvest doesn't work and when Sophie slices Davina's throat, none of the four sacrificed girls rise from their slumber and the powers of the New Orleans witches seem to be lost forever.
LOVELY REGRETS
Elijah and Hayley have undeniable chemistry - they practically radiate romance. However, Elijah isn't ready to start dating the mother of his unborn niece...or give up the ghost for that matter. While yes, Hayley did help Sophie discover the bones of Celeste but Elijah was blowing Hayley off all episode, focusing on his guilt of losing Celeste centuries ago. The two had the perfect moment to reconnect and yet it fizzled before it even started. Thanks Elijah!
RISING FROM THE ASHES
With the girls still dead after the ritual, does that mean the Harvest failed? The prophecy stated that four will rise after the Harvest is completed but it never indicated who will raise. Three Elders (including the witch who performed the Harvest earlier this season) walk through the streets and cemetery of News Orleans, confused at how they have risen from the dead. Sabine, Sophie's witch friend, has channeled the powers sacrificed from the ritual girls and called the fallen Elders from death to enact a mysterious plan. The biggest twist of the night: Sabine is no ordinary witch at all - she is, in reality, Celeste!

Ambition (or lack there of) can change someone's life in ways they could only dream. Working hard and doing anything to reach the next phase in a career is the goal of many, including the young Ms. Carrie Bradshaw. However, when the opportunities start to present themselves, will the future writer take the advantage when it might hurt someone in the process?
This week on The Carrie Diaries, Carrie tries to help a troubled Bennett, Sebastian's father returns to town with an agenda, Maggie worries about her new relationship, and Tom battles an equally strong legal rival.
A NIGHT AT THE BALLET
Bennett didn't handle the events of last week's episode too well. After breaking up with Walt and finding out his ex-boyfriend is dying of AIDS, he throws himself into partying and blowing off work. Carrie tries to cover for her friend but Larissa, demanding to receive his missing article on parachute pants, is already growing tired of letting Bennett take advantage for weeks. Carrie decides to write the fashion piece for Bennett but she never realized that Larissa would love the story and praise him for his work; much to the discomfort of Carrie. I would be mad too if I worked hard on a story and someone else got all the credit!
When Bennett finally arrives to work, receiving the credit and a stern talking to from Carrie, he feigns mental distress and leaves work to party with the boys. Carrie is livid at this point and takes his next writing job to interview the prima ballerina at the New York Ballet. Carrie has this charm to her and makes fast friends with the ballerina, getting a juicy interview in the process, but Larissa is on to Carrie's game. She knows that Carrie wrote the story, deducing the writing style from Bennett's last article, and gives Carrie the byline - causing Bennett to get fired in the process!
MONEY TROUBLES
Sebastian at times has proven to be more mature than his parents. He receives word from his father that he'll be stopping by for a visit and what he originally thought would be a simply check-up became a request for money. Sebastian's father is broke! He lost all his money in bonds that went downhill and he needs Sebastian's trust fund to recoup his loses. What's Sebastian to do? He gives the money to his father and now must fend for himself, waiting to find out if he'll ever see the money again. Hopefully the Tony Hawk deal works for him or else he'll be in major trouble.

RELATIONSHIP WOES
Samantha, not one for relationships...or steady work, sparks an interest in a new man, Elliot, while on the hunt to find a missing bird for $500. They connect (in more ways than one) and for the first time, she's smitten and considers a real relationship with him. The problem? Elliot is revealed to be married when Samantha and Carrie find him at the ballet with his wife. He says that they have an open marriage (even I had to laugh at that lie), but after the wife breaks down in tears when meeting Samantha and coming face-to-face with her husband's mistress, Samantha calls off the tryst as she is not one to enjoy complicated matters and sharing her man with anyone.
PLAYING IT COOL
Maggie has a new guy - Pete, the army guy from last week's episode - and she's head-over-heels for him. When she finds out he's coming for a visit, Mouse and Donna try to help Maggie not screw things up with Pete; effectively telling her to not screw him too early. Changing their extravagant dinner plans to the diner, not shaving her legs and blowing him off - Maggie's plans backfire as Pete cancels the rest of his trip to head home early. She rushes to the bus station to see him, explaining everything and reconciling their relationship. Best moment (and maybe a tad rushed?): Pete said he loves Maggie! I'm not the biggest Maggie fan but even I felt happy for her - too cute.
A GAME OF WITS
Tom claims to be a tough New York lawyer but he was bested on more than one occasion by a new opponent, Penny. She fakes a clumsy persona and steals a few of his documents, learning confidential information about Tom's client for a deal. Dorrit, trying to help Tom for once, uses her evil ability to trick Penny by stealing her legal documents, helping Tom to barter a truce to finish the agreement in peace. Tom and Penny have sparks and I wouldn't mind seeing them together again; besides, they hooked up pretty fast for a pair that might never see each other again.

Veronica Mars is heading back to the television world but not in the way you expect. Announced on Wednesday at the Television Critics Association (TCAs), The CW President Mark Pedowitz announced that a new Veronica Mars digital spin-off show would be heading to The CW's online digital network, CW Seed.
Admittedly confirming that buzz from the upcoming movie helped spark interest to work with the series again, The CW is excited to bring Veronica Mars back and work with Rob Thomas for the eight episode 10-minute digital series. None of the original cast members are currently signed on and current timelines seem to reveal the series won't premiere until after the movie is released.
Also revealed at The CW's TCA presentation, Pedowitz went into detail about the current shows airing on the network, as well as new series picked up, spin-offs and perspective pilots, such as their DC Comics' entries. While the outlook is looking good for the Arrow spin-off Flash after receiving its own pilot order, another DC script wasn't so lucky. Amazon, based on the early adventures of Wonder Woman, will not be going into development after being passed on for another year; however, the project will still be placed into limbo for future use. Hourman and iZombie, the other DC entries, are still tentative until Pedowitz reads the scripts.
Other news revealed:
- Breaking Pointe, the ballet-inspired reality show, has been cancelled after two season
- The Supernatural backdoor spin-off is still in development and in talks
- Two reality shows, one about barbershop challenges and another about a magic duo, were picked up for an unspecific date (I'm not even kidding about this!)
- The four hour miniseries Labyrinth was picked up as well
