What is happening at ABC?! The alphabet network is clearing house, with most of their bubble shows getting the swift cancellation axe. On Thursday, ABC revealed that several programs, including the long-running Castle and Nashville, were among their latest cancellations. In addition to these favourites, programs like The Muppets, Galavant, The Family and Agent Carter will also be ending this year.

While I FULLY expected The Family and (unfortunately) Agent Carter to end, Castle's fate is an utter surprise. The network earlier revealed that its co-lead, as well as another cast member, was fired to cut costs, so it was safe to guess that the show would be coming back. (I was wrong!) With this announcement, next week's season finale will be its SERIES finale.

I'm sad to see Nashville end. I watched the show early on when it started a few years ago and I recently binge-watched every episode when it was on Netflix. Fun fact: I still have 'Buried Under' from the first season on my playlist! It's also a shame to see Agent Carter go since it is a favourite with superhero fans.

ABC didn't just hand out bad news day, they had some good news for other waiting programs. American Crime, The Real O'Neals and The Catch were renewed for another season each.

Let's Chat About TV!

I'm the worst. I couldn't keep my resolution for the year. Not even a week after proclaiming I would write 52 blog posts in 52 days straight, I stopped blogging and became preoccupied again. I really did try! I had the motivation, the determination, and the urge to prove myself wrong. What went wrong?! I think I just get too tired when I get home.

My time away hasn't been wasted. I did start writing again, but this time it was solely about TV shows. As of Monday, I started contributing to Entertainment Weekly's EW Community page. Two of my posts have already gone up: a piece exploring the relationship status of Revenge's Nolan Ross and Louise Ellis, and a recap of MTV's cyber drama Eye Candy. I love chatting about TV shows and I can't wait to cover more topics. Check them out and stay tuned for more to come!

Don't worry all, I won't be going away. This website is still near and dear to my heart. I will still be creating consistent content on entertainment news, video games, movies, and of course, TV. I'll try and come on here soon! I'm in the mood for writing a post about video games next.

Hate is not the opposite of love, but I did surely love this episode of Revenge! All the personal feelings that each character kept deep down during the majority of the season has now boiled to the surface and caused them to lash out at each other. Secrets are being uncovered and a new twist is being thrown in the works that may cause Emily to rethink her plans.

On this week's episode of Revenge, Emily plots to separate Daniel and Sarah, Patrick searches for his birth father, Conrad strikes Voulez, and Niko is on the hunt for her revengenda.

THE MISTRESS
Sarah has assumed the role that Revenge had lost since Lydia left: the Mistress. The only way she could have Daniel is to embrace their torrid affair until Emily disappears or they get a divorce. Emily, trying to rebuild her fake relationship with Daniel after being shot, enters his room to deliver news about Voulez but discovers Sarah and Daniel in bed together. If looks could kill, no one would've left that room alive!

Later in the day, Emily confronts Sarah by the pool, implying that she's a classless tramp and should leave before things get too uncomfortable - Sarah, not one to back down, stands her ground and challenges the reigning Mrs. Grayson. A little homemade dinner and desserts from Italy are what Sarah needs to keep Daniel in check (plus, a surprise trip from Daniel to Italy didn't hurt), but Emily is not one to lose the war. Sarah's mother arrives to confront her daughter, demanding that she leave the man who caused her so much pain but when she refuses, her mother stares Sarah down and tells her that she's not her daughter anymore. My heart broke a bit for Sarah and yet it didn't - the mere fact she still tried to break up Emily's marriage and sleep with a married man didn't help her cause, even if she broke up with Daniel in the end to be with her family.

DADDY DRAMA
Patrick has a strange relationship with Victoria: half codependent and the other with obsession. He thinks that he has a great relationship with his mother but Nolan arrives to ruin Patrick's day: Patrick's father tried to claim him when he was a baby and Victoria filed a legal restriction to stop him. The conflicted son starts his search to find his missing father and when he locates the man, Victoria does everything she can to stop the meeting until Victoria ends up face-to-face with Patrick's father. He doesn't remember her but she remembers him! Victoria breaks down in a panic attack and Patrick whisks her away. We find out the real reason why she stopped the claim: Patrick's father raped Victoria as a teen, stalked her and she wanted to protect Patrick before he could do more harm to them.

WAR OF WORDS
Voulez's first issue hit the stands and yet it could be its last. Conrad successfully bribed Margaux's assistant to change the Lydia Davis shooting story to implicate Conrad and he sued for liable. His deal: he'll call off the lawsuit if he buys Daniel's stake in the company, effectively firing his son. Daniel fights it but Margaux agrees! Daniel is out of a job and Conrad is another step closer to ruining his son.

THE MISSING BLADE
Niko's main mission is to find the man who killed her father. Aiden killed Takeda and with help from Nolan, the pair try to throw Niko off, sending her on a wild goose chase to Russia to find the man who set the bomb that killed Declan in season two. Unfortunately for them, Niko finds her father's missing sword hidden under Aiden's bed. Really Aiden? You couldn't find any other place to hide the sword?! I guess you failed the cover-up course at Takeda's revenge school.

A QUEEN RETURNS
As viewers we tend to forget the characters who are mentioned infrequently and never seen but have caused a great impact to the story. The latest returnee is Conrad's first wife and the woman Victoria removed from the manor to be Mrs. Grayson. It's safe to say she hates Victoria and I can't wait to see what drama she brings with her.

OFF HER GAME
The biggest twist may be Emily's new condition. After hurting her head in the attack, Emily has experienced dizzying blackouts where she can't remember anything before returning to consciousness. The first blackout occurred while swimming and she "woke up" at Nolan's place while arguing with Aiden. The second (and dare I say, shocking and really disgusting!), Emily wakes up in Conrad's bed with a night shirt after being threatened by Daniel earlier in the night. I'm not sure what happened between the pair but I really hope she didn't sleep with Conrad - that would be a really uncomfortable storyline to watch.

What do you think Emily did during her blackouts? Will she experience another one? Will Niko confront Aiden about the sword?

Only one more news cycle left for HBO's The Newsroom. Announced on Monday via the network, HBO has decided to renew their critically-acclaimed show The Newsroom for a third and final season.

While news was still unclear about the future of the show, HBO officially confirmed the end. The Aaron Sorkin drama will begin production for their final season in the spring, with the airing scheduled for Fall 2014.

Also biting the dust on the broadcast side is ABC's low-rated spy drama The Assets. Launching with little fanfare and a 0.7 in the 18-49 rating, The Assets was pulled after two low-rated episodes. Originally intended to be an eight-part miniseries, no word yet has been announced if the remainder of the series will be aired. I wouldn't be surprised if it's used as a filler in the summer or didn't air at all. I'm usually pretty on the ball regarding new shows and yet I've heard little about The Assets until the day it aired. Oh well!

Are you sad to see The Newsroom go? Did you watch The Assets? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

The amnesia plot is gone and I couldn't be happier! Sorry, I had to get that out of the way. I love a good soap opera and its many twists, but the "amnesia storyline" is a tried and true trope that gets used a lot. In this one instance, it allowed for Emily slip up and plant the seeds in Charlotte's head and now the story can keep moving forward, especially since Victoria is hot on Emily's trail.

This week on Revenge, Emily's memories return, Victoria and Patrick plot to steal the infinity box, Daniel reaches out to Sarah, and Niko joins the game.

WHEN PLANS GO AWRY
Emily is no longer living without her memories and with the help of Fauxmanda's locket, all the painful moments of her past come flooding back. Nolan, while wearing another amazing outfit (well done, Revenge costume designer!), sneaks into the room to see his fallen friend and Emily admits that she can't complete her revengenda any longer, wishing to leave the Hamptons once and for all. Victoria, still worried about Daniel, decides it's time for Emily to come home before her memories return. She hires Niko as a home nurse and transports the wounded Ms. Thorne to the Grayson manor, akin to Lydia's situation in season one. Uh oh! History has a way of repeating itself and it doesn't look good for Emily.

At this point, things start to go downhill. Niko refuses to help Emily escape the manor to focus on healing and her revengenda, Aiden breaks things off when Emily chooses hate over their future together, and to add a painful cherry to the top of this sundae: the bullet wounds caused too much internal pain that Emily can no longer have children!

LIKE MOTHER LIKE SON
Patrick is desperate to win Victoria's attention, even though I'm pretty sure he already has it, and do anything for his birth mother to get to know her. What does Victoria desire? The mysterious double infinity box. Patrick offers to seduce Nolan in hopes of stealing the box and when the two boys are about to enjoy the night, Patrick attacks his former beau and leaves him unconscious; stealing the infinity box in the process.

MAKING UP FOR LOST TIME
Daniel still loves Sarah and his guilt over losing her has led to brash decisions. (Like shooting his lying wife!) The attempted killer returns to the Stowaway to find Sarah finishing up her night shift and walking around like her brush with death was nothing. Seriously! Emily gets shot in the stomach twice and is still recuperating while Sarah almost dies as well from accidental suicide and is already walking around - I expected some more recovery time. While Sarah didn't attempt suicide, she merely passed out drunkenly while taking a bath, she still didn't want to see Daniel or care that Emily lied about the pregnancy scare. Jack, knowing the truth about Daniel, demands that he leave the bar and punches him to kick him out. I'm usually neutral about Daniel but the second he lied to Sarah about shooting Emily, there are no redeeming qualities about him to gain sympathy. You go, Jack!

A REVENGENDA FORMS
Niko, Emily's nurse and new ally, has a secret of her own: she is Takeda's daughter. She's heard everything about Emily from her father and we find out that she met Aiden in Australia while he was on a mission. While not only looking for Aiden, she's come to the Hamptons to find her father's killer and complete her own revenge. I wonder how pissed she'll be when she finds out it's Aiden who did it, especially now since they've hooked up again?

DESPERATE TIMES, DESPERATE MEASURES
With infinity box in hand, Victoria is really to destroy Emily's reputation and bring to an end the war. Unfortunately for her, the box is a fake and Emily uses the opportunity to add some favour to her predicament. She openly admits to the media that Lydia shot her, eliminating any speculation that Daniel or Victoria was the killer, and the uneasy trio come to an agreement for now: the marriage is still on. However, the war isn't over just yet!

How will this new alliance between Emily/Daniel/Victoria work out? Can Niko figure out Aiden killed her father? Will Sarah and Daniel heat up their romance once again? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

The young Ms. Emily Thorne lives! Did anyone really think she would die? The show would be lost without her and then there wouldn't be any real cause for revenge. A new wrench is thrown into the mix and most of the characters are scrambling to pick up the pieces while others are starting to put them together.

In this week's episode of Revenge, Emily suffers from amnesia, Daniel's guilt starts to weigh him down, Nolan gets betrayed by the man he loves, and Victoria gains the upper-hand.

MIND GAMES
Emily's a survivor; she survived the attack from Daniel and managed to swim in the cold nightly water with two gunshot wounds to the stomach. Unfortunately for her, she couldn't make it all the way to freedom and was discovered by a fisherman, nearly succumbing to her wounds. Beyond the physical pain, Emily is suffering from amnesia and can't remember anything from her attack, especially the fact that her new husband tried to kill her. For a second I started to believe this was an act, another ploy by the real Amanda Clarke for her revengenda, until Aiden tried to whisk her away to freedom and she started screaming for help. Emily really does have amnesia - well...for now, at least!

Her memory starts to return when the two most unlikely people trigger something in her mind to start working again. Emily inadvertently admits to Charlotte that her father is David Clarke(!) and her memories return after Jack gives Fauxmanda's locket back to Emily, causing her to remember everything and identify Daniel as the shooter in the process.

SPLASH OF COLOUR
Who shot Emily Thorne? We know the answer but the world wants to know and they've got a suspect in mind. Victoria is the main suspect and the police have reason to believe it's her: she's got no alibi and it's not hidden knowledge that she hates Emily. After being barred from seeing Emily at the hospital, Victoria returns home to find Lydia sitting at her throne (i.e. the calligraphy armchair) and spouting barbs, first about Victoria shooting Emily and then talking about redecorating. Lydia pours her entire glass of red wine onto the chair and breaks the glass before Victoria resists every urge to fight the reigning Grayson mistress.

GUILT BY ASSOCIATION
Daniel's guilt is weighing him down after shooting his lying wife. He finds out Sarah is alive but the guilt is too much for him; he admits to Victoria that he shot Emily and plans to turn himself in. Victoria, never one to stop her obsession with her son, pushes Conrad to save their son by framing Lydia and causing his lover to leave the Hamptons with worries of being implicated. What may go down as one of the best Daniel/Conrad scenes ever, Daniel confronts Conrad about lying to protect him, spurning the help and Conrad in turn says that should Daniel ever commit a crime again, he better pray to God for help as his real father is done with him.

DOUBLE INFINITY
Nolan and Patrick are over yet again. With Emily in the hospital and only family allowed to visit, Nolan tries to see his fallen friend, only to be rebuffed by Victoria. The Grayson Matriarch is none too pleased with Nolan and chastises him for being a part of Emily's lies. When Nolan looks to Patrick for reassurance and help, he's spurned by the man he loves and the two officially break up. Patrick, while feeling betrayed, offers Victoria a tidbit of knowledge to help defeat her enemies: Nolan is hiding a secret box with a double infinity icon behind a painting - the same icon tattooed on Emily's wrist!

MYSTERY WOMAN
A new character is in the mix and she hails from Aiden's past. Emily's nurse, and possibly former acquaintance as well, is a woman named Niko who knows full well about their revengenda plans. She watches over the wounded Ms. Thorne and not only lets it slep that she was searching for Aiden but kisses him! This mystery woman could possibly shed some more light into Aiden's past and could take him away for the future. Seriously, find a way to write him off...

Are Emily's memories back for good? Will Charlotte finally deduce that Emily is her sister? Will Victoria find the infinity box? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
In less than 12 hours, we'll be saying goodbye to 2013 and welcoming a new year. New shows will premiere, seasons will return from their breaks and in the coming few months, the axe will start dropping as struggling performers are cut from next year's line-up. With the holidays nearing its end, many programs are set to resume this week. New year, new possibilities!

From my personal list of shows that aired in the Fall/Summer, I've come up with a few hopes and predictions for the rest of the season. Obviously, I will mention stuff that's happened on the show so this a SPOILER alert to anyone who has yet to watch so turn back now!

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER
The series finale is set for March 2014 and the story is slowly (as in VERY slowly) inching its way toward introducing Ted to the Mother. With the final season centred on Barney and Robin's wedding, I would like the last few episodes to tie the Mother's involvement and connection to the group as this wedding shouldn't be the sole focus. Plus, a twist at the end is always appreciated (my guess is either Ted or the Mother has died in the future).

THE ORIGINALS
So much is yet to come with Hayley's baby and the mystery surrounding its upcoming birth could change the course for the remainder of the season. New creature? New powers? In the meantime, I would love if Davina's story continues to be a major plot arc as The Harvest could prove to be a climactic season finale, especially now since she also has Josh and a newly "freed" Cami on her side to protect her.

THE WALKING DEAD
With the prison gone and the group splintered, it's become a game of survival until they find each other again. New characters are going to be introduced but a few current ones will obviously have to go to make way for new storylines. Carol should hopefully reunite with the team, Beth/Maggie need to survive after losing their father and some resolution should be done about Judith's disappearance. Spoiler: she dies in the graphic novels, but it shouldn't be left ambiguous.

REIGN
Nostradamus predicted the future but Mary's relationship with Francis is still unclear (on the show... not real life). Giving her virtue to Francis and now running off with Bash, this will add a new layer to the love triangle and make things more complicated if she returns to French Court. For Mary and her friends, the death of Aylee could leave the girls rethinking their future and place while at French Court. New love interest for Lola? Pregnancy for Kenna? Commitment for Greer? All predictions and I can't wait!

TEEN WOLF
A bloody Stiles?! Maybe the latter half of this season could be where Stiles becomes a supernatural creature? Even Lydia is now something more than just the popular girl and even as a human, Alison is a hunter. Always the comic relief, it would be interesting to see how he copes with a new curse... and maybe a new love interest for Teen Wolf

ARROW
I've got a lot to catch up on with Arrow and I'm still a little behind with the second season. However, whatever the case may be, I do hope that Felicity and Oliver start dating or continue their flirtatious moments. They possibly have the best chemistry that resulted from an unexpected pairing. Until Laurel becomes the Black Canary and Flash has his own series, I can focus on this potential romance as a possibility.

REVENGE
What a midseason finale! Emily's shooter was revealed to be her new husband Daniel after he learned the truth of her conniving ways. She went overboard with two shots to the stomach and now the upcoming previews show that she has amnesia. For the first time ever, the Graysons have the upper-hand against Emily and it would be great to see how Daniel reacts to this new predicament. Will they stay married? Will he try to kill her again? Plus, what has happened to Victoria? Since she might be framed, I'd like for the tables to turn in her favour and have the Queen Grayson hold the power for once.

GLEE
This is not so much as a prediction but a recommendation for Glee. I'm a fan of the series but the tone/quality has drifted so far from where it originally started. The show has split into two stories: the New York story and the glee club story. Since there will be another graduation coming up, once the last of the original glee club members have graduated, the main story should shift to New York solely. There's potential there for a rounded plot with many of the original Glee club members and it's clearly the main focus that's keeping its core fans.

ONCE UPON A TIME
Reboots are a tricky thing and Once Upon A Time is taking a gamble with its latest twist. Spoiler: Peter Pan ushered a new curse which caused Regina to remove every fairytale character from Storybrooke and return them to the Disney World without their memories. Has everyone forgotten their memories? Hook hasn't and he's reached out to Emma for help. I hope that all of the good that came from Storybrooke isn't gone because the "Happily-Ever-Afters" throughout the three seasons (i.e. Ariel, Cinderella) were sweet to see and I wouldn't want them gone. If something were to have gone wrong with Peter Pan's curse, that could be an interesting development.

THE CARRIE DIARIES
Sebastian's gone, Walt's kicked out of his home, Maggie and Mouse are alone, and Carrie is only just starting her adventure in New York. The future of this teen drama is still on the bubble but before its last remaining episodes, a few Sex and The City origin stories might be needed. Graduation is coming and Carrie will obviously make her way to New York but who will she meet there? Miranda? Charlotte? The infamous Stanford? Someone new should be on their way to help the series; Samantha can only do so much.

2 BROKE GIRLS
Many highs and lows for the cupcake shop throughout the three seasons. Success can't come soon enough but after the second season, it shouldn't feel rushed. What about Max's mother and Caroline's mother? These two important characters have been unseen, but we've heard a lot about them. Having one of them appear could shake up the show and add a new level to the girls' backstories. Plus, someone should experience a new romance...even if it's Han.

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES
NO MORE NEW DOPPELGANGERS! The whole Silas/Amara/Qetsiyah love triangle arc helped to add some backstory to the curse but it did little to add excitement - it was more of a distraction to end off a Season Four plot. With that arc finished (hopefully for now), Katherine will be a main focus and the mystery of the knife should be revealed. I don't think she'll die (yet) but her collapse will cause the group to take a drastic action.

MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.
Simple prediction but an important one: more Marvel characters will appear. If Smallville and Arrow can get away with using characters from its universe then SHIELD could be ready to have a few familiar faces pop up. The season so far has been without superheros or superpowers for the large part and with the remainder of its first season still airing, someone is bound to appear.

PRETTY LITTLE LIARS
With a season and a half left in the series (potentially), there are a few more bombshells left to be revealed. Ezra, now confirmed to be a member of A team (or the enemy of A team), could start the fight of his life to find Alison, especially now that she's revealed to be alive. In the battle between Ezra and Alison, I think a few more people will be revealed as part of the conspiracy and Ezra won't make it past the season alive.

AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN
A few more episodes left in the mini-series and it looks like the two queens of New Orleans are coming together against the hunters. While it looks to become a war of witches against hunters, not all will survive and I predict that potentially the witches may turn on each other at the end. Who is the Supreme? My guess is either Misty Day, Zoe or Nan.

BONUS
SLEEPY HOLLOW & THE BLACKLIST
I only promised 15 predictions but these two shows carry simple predictions that I wanted to throw in. On Sleepy Hollow, Ichabod learned that he had fathered a son with Katrina after death while Liz is still searching for her birth father on The Blacklist. My guess for both shows: Red is Elizabeth's father and Jeremy Crane will return at the season finale from being buried alive by the coven.

Only one week left before the "death" of Emily Thorne.

The penultimate episode before this season's climax is approaching in a few days and we caught a glimpse into some pre-wedding fun. Revenge has suffered the growing pains of transitioning from a lackluster sophomore season: figuring out how to be serious while also embracing its ridiculously soapy fun. The show has tried to erase its previous faults and in the process, it's bringing back the things we love slowly: the witty jokes, romance and the fact that Revenge doesn't take itself too seriously. For the continued success of Revenge, it needs to remember these factors or else it will continue to fall.

This week on Revenge, Daniel is conflicted between his love for Sarah and Emily's fake pregnancy, Lydia storms the manor, Margaux chooses Jack, and Victoria throws a wrench into Emily's plan.

PICTURE-PERFECT LIES
Daniel has not had an easy road when it comes to love. Emily isn't trustworthy, Ashley was merely using him and Sarah nearly died because of Daniel - he doesn't make the smartest decisions when it comes to love. After finding out Emily is pregnant, the conflicted Grayson continues to play groom while posing for wedding photos and caring for his pregnant fiance. Sarah is none too pleased as Daniel promised to live his life with his true love; while he didn't sleep with Sarah during the last episode, we find out his desires: to be with Sarah. He receives some advice from Charlotte and he lets Sarah go to be a responsible man for his unborn child.

If Daniel were ever to have a chance at REAL happiness, I hope he finds it. Emily has lied enough to him and if the choice came between death or being with Sarah, he needs to experience true love again. It's either that or continuing to live life while making unintentional Titantic references. Really?! He had to drop the necklace into the ocean?

A STORY NO MORE
Margaux, the ever respectable writer, decides this episode to give up the story of a lifetime. In the matter of minutes, she gives up her ambition to uncover Conrad's secret instead to protect Jack from a potential unforeseen death. I can respect Jack telling Margaux the truth about Conrad and yet I don't think this will be the end of this plotline. She's only a few steps away from the truth and all she needs to legitimize her magazine is a story like this.

BACK TO BED
Lydia is a dose of underhanded evil and social climbing that's been sorely missed on Revenge. Everything she's done in the first season had an air of snobbery and manipulation that I really missed when she was revealed to be alive. Her role as a news source may have ended but her mission to take down Emily has not. Lydia finds the New Year's Eve photo in Conrad's photo albums and now the social climbing enemy has the ammunition needed to fight Emily; not just pushing her off the steps.

A NEW LIFE
Aidan doesn't work for me. I get that he loves Emily and they have this bond that was slowly introduced during the second season (at some times to a painful degree) but it seemed forced compared to the simplicity of Daniel and Jack. The equally vengeful Brit proposes to Emily (which she accepts) and yet I'm wondering if this will really last? This looks all too simple for the pair to run off into the sunset. With half a season left, something has to go wrong for this plan to end in flames... or bullets.

RSVP DENIED
Oh Victoria, how I enjoy you so. With a single mark of a pen, Victoria can send Emily's plan into a nosedive. The Queen Grayson is refusing to attend Emily's wedding and preventing herself from being framed for Emily's murder. Moments like these remind me of the first season: Victoria and Emily keeping each other on their toes, neither is winning in the fight but both are delivering equally manipulative tactics. Well done!

How will Emily get Victoria to attend the wedding? Will Margaux return to the story? What does Lydia have up her sleeve now? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

The past is coming back to haunt Daniel.

After a few slow beginning episodes, I'm pleasantly surprised of where season three is heading. Plots are intermixing, others are developing into broader characters, and previous sentiments are boiling over as the climax episode nears. The jury is still out on if things have really changed from my last assessment but I'm starting approve in certain areas.

This week on Revenge, Nolan stands up to Emily, Charlotte becomes Victoria Grayson, the tide rolls in on Grayson Manor, and Patrick runs for the hills.

THE HOUSE THAT EVIL BUILT
Emily's take down this week is not on an individual but a house instead. Conrad plans to sell the iconic Grayson Manor and keep his family afloat with funds, but Emily can't risk her favourite targets leaving the Hamptons. With help from Aidan and a sledgehammer, Emily destroys part of her house to fool the Grayson's realtor into believing the beachfront properties will soon be destroyed by Mother Nature. The report is real but the severity and impact of the erosion is false. The realtor blacklists the Graysons and they're stuck in the Hamptons to live next to Emily.

FRIENDSHIP BLUES
Nolan has played the role of sarcastic and loyal ally to Emily throughout these three seasons, but what he really wants is to be called a friend. It's not hard to understand with someone as cold as Emily that wouldn't share any friendly or tender moments. Emily asks her Nolan to break things off with Patrick but he can't seem to do so, thinking it to be a step too far. He does what he's asked and ultimately confesses the truth to Jack out of a fit of anger. Jack already knows the secret and after a heartfelt argument, it's Emily that needs to apologize to her two closest friends and raise the white flag.

WELCOME TO THE GAME, MS. GRAYSON
Charlotte hasn't played the game of Revenge. She's acted spoiled, focused on her relationship with Declan and dealt with family drama over anything else. Season three is showing a new side of Charlotte; she's manipulating the people around her with a secret agenda to break up Emily and Daniel. By leading Daniel to a new bakery, he ends up face-to-face with Sarah, the bartender and former flame he nearly killed pre-series. I'm impressed by Charlotte, not only does she lead Daniel to an uncomfortable moment but she manages to get Sarah fired and manipulates her into working at the Stowaway; causing Daniel to reconnect with her. Well played Charlotte, well played.

THE TRUTH UNCOVERED
Patrick bid a fast farewell to the Hamptons after the truth of Conrad's accident was revealed. He committed the crime to protect Victoria but all she could do was help him flee the country. I hope this isn't the last we see of Patrick as there seems to be more to his story than what we originally saw

Will Daniel spark a new romance with Sarah? Can the new Charlotte take down Emily? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Does the third season have a main story?

That's the question I keep finding myself asking with Revenge so far. With five episodes in, Revenge has taken a slow start to pulling these characters together to the main episode (Spoiler Alert: Emily gets shot on her wedding night). Much of the first few episodes erased the entirety of season two and the others have done little to progress the season arch. Small problems were created and two people were "sharpied" but anything that was established has eventually been erased too. Emily's journey the last few episodes aren't setting the tone for a big climactic moment; characters like Margaux, Daniel and Aidan (my guesses for the attack), while potential shooters, haven't shown any reason to do the deed. While it is early in the season and only on episode five, Revenge needs to quickly return to its fast-paced nature and character progression.

This week on Revenge, Daniel throws a wrench in Emily's plan, the culprit behind Conrad's crash is revealed, and Jack finds a new lady love.

LOOSE ENDS, NEW BEGINNINGS
I'm not an Aidan fan. He suddenly appeared last season with a story that connected to The Initiative and became the new third person fighting for Emily's heart; it was a bit much and he hasn't won me over yet. Picking up from last episode, Aidan confronted Jack and threatened him that Conrad (and by extension, the Graysons) will cause his death. Jack's being framed for cutting Conrad's brakes and if he doesn't hightail it soon, he'll soon meet a grisly fate.

Receiving word from Victoria (albeit because of nefarious motives - more about that later on), Emily runs to the Stowaway to help her former flame and discuss a plan of action. Jack's being pulled into yet another set up and he's reached his end with Emily's plans. I would be too with the amount of destruction that Emily leaves in her wake. Moving on from his toxic ex, he kisses Margaux, setting up for another love triangle that won't last.

THE ICE QUEEN MELTS
Emily's pull on Daniel has weakened the last few episodes. All the lies, lack of trust and hidden motives reached the boiling point when Daniel calls off their engagement when Emily arrives late to the Voulez launch party - instead helping Jack first. He's tired of the situation and doesn't know if he can really trust Emily. For the first time, she comes clean about her trust issues, sheds a few tears and shares her resentment toward losing her family. This may be the closest moment that she's ever told Daniel the truth of her past.

FAMILY SCHEMES
Charlotte has shown her Victoria side. She sided with her mother to add doubt in Daniel's mind about Emily and she's successfully pulled Jack and Margaux together. When the "truth" is revealed that Charlotte cut the brakes, Conrad is all too forgiving to reconnect with his daughter but the real truth is more sinister (and believable). In actuality, Charlotte is lying to protect Victoria and keep the truth that Patrick was on the one to cut the brakes. No reason yet why he did it but we'll find it soon enough. But where is Patrick? He's off hooking up with Nolan and getting together for the first time. So far Patrick's five episodes in and already winning at Revenge.

Will Charlotte continue to bring out her devious side? Does Jack have a shot at surviving this season? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

New beginnings, old rivalries.

Revenge is known (or used to be) for its fast-paced storytelling. Barely were there any filler episodes in the first season and Emily only focused on her mission or the events of the Hamptons. While nothing new really happened this week (except for a MUCH needed steamy kiss), this episode focused mostly on exposition.

This week on Revenge, we find out the aftermath of Conrad's car crash, Nolan digs a little deeper into Patrick's life, and Victoria enters the working world.

DIE ANOTHER DAY
Soap operas kill characters off all the time. One day they're casually throwing off-handed comments, the next they're being poisoned by their enemy. Conrad possibly has survived the most murder attempts and assaults over the last three seasons. When Emily finds the car crash and makes the subsequent hospital visit this episode, Father Paul is dead while Conrad, not only survives the episode, but finds out that his Huntington's Disease diagnosis was a lie. Conrad is a megalomaniac but Emily has been dropping the ball lately and giving him the opportunities to outlive these endeavors.

Someone is trying to kill Conrad, though. Emily and Jack's snooping discovered that the brakes on his car were cut, leading to Father Paul's death. Jack is being framed by Aidan but who really cut the brakes? My money's on potentially Patrick or Charlotte.

ART-SCHOOLED
Victoria is trying something new: she's working a real job. Well, she's selling her artwork and invited her rich friends to buy the items at the art gallery. Sheila, her new boss and frenemy, deals in stolen art and when Patrick sells a painting from Victoria, the Grayson matriarch uses the opportunity to force the frenemy out of the Hamptons and takeover ownership of the gallery. Victoria should be proud - she used her new son to take down a threat. So proud!

KISS OR MISS
Nolan hasn't had the best luck in dating. Tyler, Marco, and Padma all fizzled but his newest beau, Patrick, might have a secret or two. Patrick catches his interest and by digging a little deeper into his past, Nolan makes the first move. They're so on! Though, I have to wonder if one or both of them have ulterior motives? The sly looks speak for themselves.

What secret does Patrick really hide? Can Emily score another take down since Father Paul? Will Conrad eliminate Jack? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

The unlucky axe finds its first victim.

Revealed by Deadline on Friday, ABC has cancelled its rookie drama Lucky 7 after only low-rated two episodes. Premiering to a 1.3 (in the 18-49 demo) in its first week, Lucky 7 fell to a sharp 0.7 in its second airing before being pulled by the network. Reruns of Scandal will be aired temporarily in its timeslot moving forward.

Someone has to be the first fall cancellation of the 2013-2014 season. Low ratings from one of the Big 4 networks spells imminent cancellation but time only tells if and when the axe will fall. Lucky 7 will join other illustrious shows like Made In Jersey and The Playboy Club in the first fall cancellation category.

So long Season 2! It's like you were never here...

A new premiere, a new mystery and now a new showrunner. A lot has happened over the last several months that has created some optimism for the new season. Revenge suffered a fate that most must-watch shows face: the sophomore slump. Someone decided that more mysteries, more plotlines and more characters were what was needed for the second season but the show ultimately suffered. Too much was going on and it showed when viewers stopped tuning in live (DVR and online became the new normal). After Revenge was renewed, the showrunner left and an overhaul was in the works to fix the problems of the previous season. Did it work? Possibly. We'll have to see as the season develops.

This week on Revenge, Emily turns against a former frenemy, Charlotte gets a backbone (and some much needed attitude), Victoria finds happiness, and Jack breaks a heart.

ASHLEY DAVENPORT-ED
Oh the red sharpie, whenever you reappear I fall in love all over again. Emily tends to use the red ink against those who've slighted her father but this week saw her target a former friend, Ashley. Upon returning to the Hamptons, the former Grayson Political Campaign and PR Manager tried to blackmail Emily into inviting her to the annual Grayson Memorial Day party. While it scored her an invite, Emily directed her main focus at tearing down a potential thorn in her side.

During the unveiling of Conrad's painting, he succumbed to a temporary poison (supplied by Nolan and Emily) and was rushed to a nearby hospital. News surfaced about Conrad's fake condition and Emily skillfully placed the blame on Ashley. With help from Victoria, the social climber was forced to leave the Hamptons (and the US) forever. Poor Ashley, she didn't stand a chance... and not just talking about her storyline.

BANGS AND BACKBONE
Victoria found peace (and dare I say - happiness?!) over the summer break. Patrick, her long lost son, arrived at the end of season two and the pair bonded to reclaim any lost time. The only person that wasn't excited to see the blonde boytoy: Charlotte. She returned from her Europe trip (minus pregnant belly - so long season two storylines!) with a new mature look and a new icy attitude. In the matter of one episode, she called out her mother, played doting daughter to her father and confronted her half-brother. Patrick went running back to the city but Charlotte stood her ground and I can't wait to see what evil she'll be bringing to the new season. Now that Ashley is gone, it'll be great to have a devious character around causing chaos to the characters.

THE KISS GOODBYE
Season two ended on a cliffhanger. SPOILER ALERT: Emily revealed to Jack that she was Amanda! With the time jump after election night, we're left waiting to find out how Jack reacted but he left the Hamptons, along with his son Carl in toe. Jack has never had the best storylines on Revenge but he has had some of the best one-liners and shocking comments. After kissing Emily in a heated conversation, he feels NOTHING(!) and wants nothing to do with her ever again. He gives her until the end of the summer to complete her revengenda.

DOUBLE INFINITY
On the wedding front (I haven't forgotten), Daniel and Emily have set a date: August 8th. That's right! Their wedding is 8/8 - oh the irony.

Will Ashley return for HER revenge? Anyone else like this new mature Charlotte? Can Conrad bounce back from the fake diagnosis? Can Patrick be trusted? Share your thoughts by posting in the comments below.
Say goodbye to summer! Sun, sand and summer programming are almost a distant memory now as the upcoming fall season will begin this month. Last television year I had bad luck with the shows I picked for the Midseason 2013 list; I did well with the Fall 2012 list. Seriously, I shouldn't even bother picking my early favourites without fear of cancellation... but I'm going to anyway. I never can tell which shows I'll really like once I start watching the season. Several of my early picks quickly fell of my schedule within weeks (i.e. Deception and Hannibal).

Now that the first few premieres aired last week, I've thought of which shows I'm excited to see. The fall season features the top programs which networks promote to be their big successes and earn the highest ad revenue. While that's not to say midseason shows are treated less, the fall shows tend to get higher viewers and more press early on. It was hard to narrow my list down as there are plenty of shows I want to check out, but here's a shortlist of seven shows I'd like to watch the pilot.

Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC)
Was there any other show that has earned more hype? While I haven't seen The Avengers quite yet, the early trailers and clips for the show look intense. Plenty of drama, action and potential cameos from big name stars and comic book heroes. The entire pilot episode was kept under lock and key by ABC from being leaked online. I've heard of rumours regarding a few cameos, but it must be an important episode to check out since it's gone to great lengths to not be revealed.

Sleepy Hollow (FOX)
To be fair with my assessment, I've already seen the pilot for Sleepy Hollow. Possibly about a few months back near the Canadian Television Upfronts, I got a chance to watch the pilot beforehand. It had a nice mix of fairytale backstory while throwing in an apocalypse angle. Obviously the headless jokes are a bit cheesy but there's something to be said about the Headless Horseman and that axe. I would like to give this program a shot with a few episodes before I really decide. The standard is four so until then.

Reign (The CW)
Reign peaked my interest since it's an unusual choice for The CW. The show is a period piece based on Mary, Queen of Scots (played by Adelaide Kane) throughout her teen years and may be a little too period for The CW's core audience. Also, the show was picked up to series over the highly anticipated (and expected) pilot The Selection and placed in the coveted post-Vampire Diaries timeslot. It's a gamble for the network and I'd like to see if they would be able to pull off an authentic period show.

Super Fun Night (ABC)
Rebel Wilson - I think that could basically sum up an entire explanation on why to watch the show. She's funny, I loved her in Pitch Perfect and from the few clips I've seen, it looks like a pretty interesting half-hour comedy. Similar to The Mindy Project, this will be heavily dependent on Rebel's performance and it will determine the success of the show. Though, I think it could do somewhat well in the initial first weeks based on clips alone.

The Blacklist (NBC)
A bit of a change in gears for choices this post. The Blacklist stars James Spader as an FBI most-wanted criminal who helps the police track wanted criminals and terrorists around the world from his handy list of contacts. I didn't know what to expect until I saw the trailer and I was blown away. This might be one of NBC's best new shows of the year and could help them score a ratings boost for fall.

Once Upon A Time In Wonderland (ABC)
Is it a spin-off or a limited series? Originally it started as a limited series to fill in the gap of Once Upon A Time in the middle of the third season but now it's a full-fledged show. My only hesitation is that nothing will hopefully change between both the main show and its spin-off since they're both set in the same universe. The Mad Hatter was already introduced in one show and I wouldn't want details to be altered between both storylines. If the show doesn't get picked up moving forward, I wouldn't be surprised to see the characters appear in the main series.

The Originals (The CW)
Another vampire show? I liked the Originals from The Vampire Diaries and I was glad to hear they survived the deaths in the main storyline. The CW is obviously hoping that fans will carry their fandom to another night and save Tuesdays, which has shaken its line-up similar to the other nights. I'm not too fond of the storyline but it has potential and it could be a more darker than its parent show.

There were a lot of good shows to add to the list and I still have plenty of new picks like The Crazy Ones (CBS), The Tomorrow People (The CW) and Dracula (NBC) to name a few. Similar to the last few picks, I'm always open to hear your choices on which shows I should be watching. The cancellation axe will hopefully be merciful this season but we won't know until it comes crashing down.
