Supergirl is making a super move over to a new station. One of television's breakout freshman shows is finding a new home on the CBS sister network, The CW, for its upcoming second season. Announced Thursday among a slew of other TV renewals and cancellations, Supergirl's fate was left up in the air as CBS determined costs for the bubble show.

While the show started off strong for the 2015-2016 season, the show ultimately declined in ratings to a respectable 10 millions viewers, with DVR numbers included. Rumours were popping up that the show may have been moving to The CW, where the network is home to other superhero shows. With this news confirmed, Supergirl will also be moving production to Vancouver to be filmed near other network shows, like Arrow and Flash.

In addition to the Supergirl renewal, The CW announced the cancellation of Containment and three new series pickups. Riverdale, the modern adaption of the Archie Comics, has been picked up to series, along with Frequency and No Tomorrow. For more about these new shows, I briefly discussed them when the network had ordered their pilots.

I'm VERY excited to see Riverdale  - it looks to be an interesting take on the show and could prove refreshing with the superhero shows on the network. As a fan of The CW programming, it will be on my must-watch list for the upcoming TV year.

The twist is revealed, the house is a tree and this season's crop of houseguests are one week away from walking into the game. A year has gone by and after the debacle that was Big Brother 15, all eyes will be on this year's cast to see what is said when the game starts. The "Powers That Be" have carefully selected which players will be entering the game but even after our all pre-judgements and first impressions, we won't truly know these houseguests until they start playing.

I don't usually do a first impressions post. I constantly change my opinion and thoughts about the moves these players make and I've been disappointed a couple times in the past. Some get nasty, others stand out while the rest either become quiet or float by. Though, I'm open to looking back at our thoughts of these players before they shock us with their actions this summer.

Let's delve right into the first houseguest...

Amber Borzotra (26): Southern girl, seems like a socialite-type that would prefer the aspects of fame and enjoying the summer by the pool. I don't see any fight in her and I wouldn't be surprised if she auditioned to be on the show based on a whim. Does she really know the game? Probably not. I'd guess she'll either float by to jury or get an early boot from the "model eviction" curse that plagues every season.

Brittany Martinez (29): Brittany may have been scouted but I think she's hiding her competitive nature in these interviews. I keep getting a "diamond-in-the-rough" vibe from her and would be pleasantly happy if she turned out to be a real competitor. The only drawback is that I could see her getting too caught up in showmances, the drama or the emotions from being away from her kids. Possibly she'll make it far. Top 4 or finals?

Caleb Reynolds (26): A showmancer...and he's proud of it. People will like him at first based on his looks but he'll definitely have the target on his back as the season progresses. His partner will last longer than he does if doesn't win power - that's what happens when a strong guy and girl team up in an obvious duo. He seems cocky and that could rub people the wrong way; might be a little too arrogant and abrasiveness at first. Big Brother is a long game so it's really early to tell...

Christine Brecht (23): The superfan of the group and one of my favourites. I love houseguests who live, breathe and think about Big Brother because you want to cheer on those fans to win the game they love so much. She definitely stands out with the glasses, tattoos and nerdy nature which could work against her. She might be one of the early evictees if she can't connect with the others, but I'd hope for at least jury.

Cody Calafiore (23): Has he ever watched an episode of Big Brother? Like ANY Big Brother before being scouted for the show? He seems really laid-back, calm and to be a little honest...dull. His looks will help start a showmance if he's interested and he could be targeted for being a threat early on if men are being targeted. I want to be proven wrong with this, but I don't think Cody will do well at first unless he's pulled into a big alliance. For some reason I can't shake, I get the vibe he will float by, join a powerful alliance and get carried to good spot without really knowing how to play the game.

Derrick Levasseur (30): He's the cop who wants to lie about being a cop. Tony did it on Survivor but it didn't really change things. I don't understand why houseguests need to lie about their profession, it doesn't shock people at the beginning and people move on. Keeping things a secret will backfire on him. He seems to be an aggressive and smart player so he could make it far.

Devin Shepherd (26): Really strong guy with a daughter at home. He'll get the sympathy card and could win a few people with his nice attitude. Though, same like Howard last season, Devin looks really strong and tough with his muscles. Even if he's not great at challenges, he might always be perceived as a challenge threat and targeted early. I wouldn't be surprised if he got blindsided early on before jury.

Donny Thompson (42): Is Duck Dynasty doing a cross-over this season? He seems like a floater and wouldn't be open to shaking up the house. His favourite player was Spencer from last season so my expectations are low. Expect Donny to be carried for a few weeks as a pawn or evicted during a throwaway week.

Frankie Grande (31): Frankie may be the most debated houseguest this season based on fairness. He has a large social following and his sister is a famous popstar/actress. Those fan followings alone will impact the voting, similar to what happened last season for Big Brother 15 with the Brenchel army and Elissa. He seems to be here for the fame and the game - he could really pull things off and be a competitor. However, if people find out who his sister is, or if they're tired of his antics, he could get the boot pre-jury.

Hayden Voss (21): Chill surfer and someone who may make a lot of jokes in the house. As compared to David from last season, I think Hayden may be more knowledgeable about Big Brother. I don't foresee him to be the first evictee and I think he'll make it to jury. He's not a threat from a physicality perspective at first glance and could join a powerful alliance for numbers, but I think he might surprise a lot of people.

Jocasta Odom (33): Obvious floater. She doesn't seem like the type to actively play a strategic or physical game. I see her as the person who may stick around the house as the extra vote or could get an early boot. However, she could be the cause of drama when she's tired of playing the nice game. Either way, I don't expect Jocasta to win Big Brother.

Joey Van Pelt (27): Fun, loud and up for anything. Joey is a character and will offer some great TV moments. She wants an all-girl alliance and I would love to see that happen. Season 6 somewhat had that partway through the season - it worked but didn't work well. The problem Joey might have is that the houseguests who are different or who have strong personalities tend to get evicted early. She needs to develop those friendships very quickly!

Nicole Franzel (21): Very sweet girl and could slide right through to jury. She could surprise a lot of people and make a big move that shocks everyone. I like Nicole! She's the bright-eyed fan that is genuinely excited to be in the house and to play the game. I hope to see great things from her.

Paola Shea (27): Oh Paola...I really don't know what to say. She's definitely a character, but I sense she's a fame-seeker and here to build her DJ reputation. She could float by at first, trying to slide through. However, she will definitely cause a lot of drama and could be a pre-jury boot. I'm not expecting her to change the game - I suspect she'll try and fail.

Victoria Rafaeli (22): Another person who doesn't really know much about the game. She's familiar with Big Brother in another country, but that's a different type of Big Brother which focuses on public opinion. I think Victoria will assume the role of floater and try to slide by the early weeks. I would love if she attempted to play the game but my hopes are low right now.

Zach Rance (23): I can't even with Zach right now. I've watched a few videos of Zach and he will definitely get the title of "too-hard-too-fast" this season. Relationships are important in Big Brother and you can't win the game without making genuine alliances. His strategy will absolutely change once he's in the house and I will be curious to see how he actually plays the game. Zach will be an interesting person to watch early on - his game depends on it.

In less than 12 hours, we'll be saying goodbye to 2013 and welcoming a new year. New shows will premiere, seasons will return from their breaks and in the coming few months, the axe will start dropping as struggling performers are cut from next year's line-up. With the holidays nearing its end, many programs are set to resume this week. New year, new possibilities!

From my personal list of shows that aired in the Fall/Summer, I've come up with a few hopes and predictions for the rest of the season. Obviously, I will mention stuff that's happened on the show so this a SPOILER alert to anyone who has yet to watch so turn back now!

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER
The series finale is set for March 2014 and the story is slowly (as in VERY slowly) inching its way toward introducing Ted to the Mother. With the final season centred on Barney and Robin's wedding, I would like the last few episodes to tie the Mother's involvement and connection to the group as this wedding shouldn't be the sole focus. Plus, a twist at the end is always appreciated (my guess is either Ted or the Mother has died in the future).

THE ORIGINALS
So much is yet to come with Hayley's baby and the mystery surrounding its upcoming birth could change the course for the remainder of the season. New creature? New powers? In the meantime, I would love if Davina's story continues to be a major plot arc as The Harvest could prove to be a climactic season finale, especially now since she also has Josh and a newly "freed" Cami on her side to protect her.

THE WALKING DEAD
With the prison gone and the group splintered, it's become a game of survival until they find each other again. New characters are going to be introduced but a few current ones will obviously have to go to make way for new storylines. Carol should hopefully reunite with the team, Beth/Maggie need to survive after losing their father and some resolution should be done about Judith's disappearance. Spoiler: she dies in the graphic novels, but it shouldn't be left ambiguous.

REIGN
Nostradamus predicted the future but Mary's relationship with Francis is still unclear (on the show... not real life). Giving her virtue to Francis and now running off with Bash, this will add a new layer to the love triangle and make things more complicated if she returns to French Court. For Mary and her friends, the death of Aylee could leave the girls rethinking their future and place while at French Court. New love interest for Lola? Pregnancy for Kenna? Commitment for Greer? All predictions and I can't wait!

TEEN WOLF
A bloody Stiles?! Maybe the latter half of this season could be where Stiles becomes a supernatural creature? Even Lydia is now something more than just the popular girl and even as a human, Alison is a hunter. Always the comic relief, it would be interesting to see how he copes with a new curse... and maybe a new love interest for Teen Wolf?

ARROW
I've got a lot to catch up on with Arrow and I'm still a little behind with the second season. However, whatever the case may be, I do hope that Felicity and Oliver start dating or continue their flirtatious moments. They possibly have the best chemistry that resulted from an unexpected pairing. Until Laurel becomes the Black Canary and Flash has his own series, I can focus on this potential romance as a possibility.

REVENGE
What a midseason finale! Emily's shooter was revealed to be her new husband Daniel after he learned the truth of her conniving ways. She went overboard with two shots to the stomach and now the upcoming previews show that she has amnesia. For the first time ever, the Graysons have the upper-hand against Emily and it would be great to see how Daniel reacts to this new predicament. Will they stay married? Will he try to kill her again? Plus, what has happened to Victoria? Since she might be framed, I'd like for the tables to turn in her favour and have the Queen Grayson hold the power for once.

GLEE
This is not so much as a prediction but a recommendation for Glee. I'm a fan of the series but the tone/quality has drifted so far from where it originally started. The show has split into two stories: the New York story and the glee club story. Since there will be another graduation coming up, once the last of the original glee club members have graduated, the main story should shift to New York solely. There's potential there for a rounded plot with many of the original Glee club members and it's clearly the main focus that's keeping its core fans.

ONCE UPON A TIME
Reboots are a tricky thing and Once Upon A Time is taking a gamble with its latest twist. Spoiler: Peter Pan ushered a new curse which caused Regina to remove every fairytale character from Storybrooke and return them to the Disney World without their memories. Has everyone forgotten their memories? Hook hasn't and he's reached out to Emma for help. I hope that all of the good that came from Storybrooke isn't gone because the "Happily-Ever-Afters" throughout the three seasons (i.e. Ariel, Cinderella) were sweet to see and I wouldn't want them gone. If something were to have gone wrong with Peter Pan's curse, that could be an interesting development.

THE CARRIE DIARIES
Sebastian's gone, Walt's kicked out of his home, Maggie and Mouse are alone, and Carrie is only just starting her adventure in New York. The future of this teen drama is still on the bubble but before its last remaining episodes, a few Sex and The City origin stories might be needed. Graduation is coming and Carrie will obviously make her way to New York but who will she meet there? Miranda? Charlotte? The infamous Stanford? Someone new should be on their way to help the series; Samantha can only do so much.

2 BROKE GIRLS
Many highs and lows for the cupcake shop throughout the three seasons. Success can't come soon enough but after the second season, it shouldn't feel rushed. What about Max's mother and Caroline's mother? These two important characters have been unseen, but we've heard a lot about them. Having one of them appear could shake up the show and add a new level to the girls' backstories. Plus, someone should experience a new romance...even if it's Han.

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES
NO MORE NEW DOPPELGANGERS! The whole Silas/Amara/Qetsiyah love triangle arc helped to add some backstory to the curse but it did little to add excitement - it was more of a distraction to end off a Season Four plot. With that arc finished (hopefully for now), Katherine will be a main focus and the mystery of the knife should be revealed. I don't think she'll die (yet) but her collapse will cause the group to take a drastic action.

MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.
Simple prediction but an important one: more Marvel characters will appear. If Smallville and Arrow can get away with using characters from its universe then SHIELD could be ready to have a few familiar faces pop up. The season so far has been without superheros or superpowers for the large part and with the remainder of its first season still airing, someone is bound to appear.

PRETTY LITTLE LIARS
With a season and a half left in the series (potentially), there are a few more bombshells left to be revealed. Ezra, now confirmed to be a member of A team (or the enemy of A team), could start the fight of his life to find Alison, especially now that she's revealed to be alive. In the battle between Ezra and Alison, I think a few more people will be revealed as part of the conspiracy and Ezra won't make it past the season alive.

AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN
A few more episodes left in the mini-series and it looks like the two queens of New Orleans are coming together against the hunters. While it looks to become a war of witches against hunters, not all will survive and I predict that potentially the witches may turn on each other at the end. Who is the Supreme? My guess is either Misty Day, Zoe or Nan.

BONUS
SLEEPY HOLLOW & THE BLACKLIST
I only promised 15 predictions but these two shows carry simple predictions that I wanted to throw in. On Sleepy Hollow, Ichabod learned that he had fathered a son with Katrina after death while Liz is still searching for her birth father on The Blacklist. My guess for both shows: Red is Elizabeth's father and Jeremy Crane will return at the season finale from being buried alive by the coven.

Say goodbye to summer! Sun, sand and summer programming are almost a distant memory now as the upcoming fall season will begin this month. Last television year I had bad luck with the shows I picked for the Midseason 2013 list; I did well with the Fall 2012 list. Seriously, I shouldn't even bother picking my early favourites without fear of cancellation... but I'm going to anyway. I never can tell which shows I'll really like once I start watching the season. Several of my early picks quickly fell of my schedule within weeks (i.e. Deception and Hannibal).

Now that the first few premieres aired last week, I've thought of which shows I'm excited to see. The fall season features the top programs which networks promote to be their big successes and earn the highest ad revenue. While that's not to say midseason shows are treated less, the fall shows tend to get higher viewers and more press early on. It was hard to narrow my list down as there are plenty of shows I want to check out, but here's a shortlist of seven shows I'd like to watch the pilot.

Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC)
Was there any other show that has earned more hype? While I haven't seen The Avengers quite yet, the early trailers and clips for the show look intense. Plenty of drama, action and potential cameos from big name stars and comic book heroes. The entire pilot episode was kept under lock and key by ABC from being leaked online. I've heard of rumours regarding a few cameos, but it must be an important episode to check out since it's gone to great lengths to not be revealed.

Sleepy Hollow (FOX)
To be fair with my assessment, I've already seen the pilot for Sleepy Hollow. Possibly about a few months back near the Canadian Television Upfronts, I got a chance to watch the pilot beforehand. It had a nice mix of fairytale backstory while throwing in an apocalypse angle. Obviously the headless jokes are a bit cheesy but there's something to be said about the Headless Horseman and that axe. I would like to give this program a shot with a few episodes before I really decide. The standard is four so until then.

Reign (The CW)
Reign peaked my interest since it's an unusual choice for The CW. The show is a period piece based on Mary, Queen of Scots (played by Adelaide Kane) throughout her teen years and may be a little too period for The CW's core audience. Also, the show was picked up to series over the highly anticipated (and expected) pilot The Selection and placed in the coveted post-Vampire Diaries timeslot. It's a gamble for the network and I'd like to see if they would be able to pull off an authentic period show.

Super Fun Night (ABC)
Rebel Wilson - I think that could basically sum up an entire explanation on why to watch the show. She's funny, I loved her in Pitch Perfect and from the few clips I've seen, it looks like a pretty interesting half-hour comedy. Similar to The Mindy Project, this will be heavily dependent on Rebel's performance and it will determine the success of the show. Though, I think it could do somewhat well in the initial first weeks based on clips alone.

The Blacklist (NBC)
A bit of a change in gears for choices this post. The Blacklist stars James Spader as an FBI most-wanted criminal who helps the police track wanted criminals and terrorists around the world from his handy list of contacts. I didn't know what to expect until I saw the trailer and I was blown away. This might be one of NBC's best new shows of the year and could help them score a ratings boost for fall.

Once Upon A Time In Wonderland (ABC)
Is it a spin-off or a limited series? Originally it started as a limited series to fill in the gap of Once Upon A Time in the middle of the third season but now it's a full-fledged show. My only hesitation is that nothing will hopefully change between both the main show and its spin-off since they're both set in the same universe. The Mad Hatter was already introduced in one show and I wouldn't want details to be altered between both storylines. If the show doesn't get picked up moving forward, I wouldn't be surprised to see the characters appear in the main series.

The Originals (The CW)
Another vampire show? I liked the Originals from The Vampire Diaries and I was glad to hear they survived the deaths in the main storyline. The CW is obviously hoping that fans will carry their fandom to another night and save Tuesdays, which has shaken its line-up similar to the other nights. I'm not too fond of the storyline but it has potential and it could be a more darker than its parent show.

There were a lot of good shows to add to the list and I still have plenty of new picks like The Crazy Ones (CBS), The Tomorrow People (The CW) and Dracula (NBC) to name a few. Similar to the last few picks, I'm always open to hear your choices on which shows I should be watching. The cancellation axe will hopefully be merciful this season but we won't know until it comes crashing down.

Time to close the book and end the story kids.

CBS has announced that How I Met Your Mother has been picked up for one more final year. The upcoming ninth season of the half hour comedy will unfortunately be its last year.

All current series regulars have signed on for the upcoming fall season. Also, details have been released that the identity of the mother, which has been the central mystery and premise of the series, will FINALLY be revealed before the end of the final season. No word yet if the identity will be revealed this current season or sometime during the 2013-2014 season.

I've only started watching the show within the last year or so and I've really enjoyed the episodes I have seen. Many fans have expressed that the show hasn't been the best in the most recent seasons. Though, the upside could be that since a finale is now set to air next year, all remaining storylines and twists can be introduced to the viewers before a series finale.

Are you sad to see the show go? Sound off in the comments and share your thoughts about the renewal and cancellation news.
The holidays are over and the dust has settled for the first batch of cancellations. While the list has been surprisingly few, the greater number of pick-ups and renewals is a positive change to see that most new series are getting a full season. So far my selection from the Fall 2012 list has only lost one show (R.I.P. 666 Park Avenue), but now we can also judge the shows that will come in to replace those that have left.

Since it's the beginning of the new year, the networks will start to premiere a new line-up of TV shows. Midseason replacements are programs that didn't make it for the fall schedule and in most cases, these shows have a short number of first season episodes (pending renewal and script order). I've searched through the main five networks and came up with a shortlist of TV shows that I'd like to watch either the pilot episode or the first few episodes.

Hannibal (NBC)
Has anyone heard about or seen a trailer for this show?! Hannibal is the small screen adaptation of the novel series about cannibalistic psychopath Dr. Hannibal Lecter. NBC has only stated "coming soon" but TV.com is featuring a countdown where the show will premiere in March so I'm including it on the list. First off, Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal scared me as a child... I have yet to ever finish the latter. Though, the buzz surrounding this show is pegging it as a future hit for 2013. I would love to see how a primetime network tackles the issue of Hannibal for a non-Cable viewing audience.

Do No Harm (NBC)
Cards on the table: I've had the chance to watch the pilot episode. Do No Harm is a mainstream adaptation of the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde tale where a doctor deals with an uncontrolled and dangerous split-personality. I had yet to hear what the show was about but after watching the episode, I am quite impressed with the concept. The main lead did a good job and seeing where the season develops could be interesting change with the current shows that I follow. My only hope for the show is that in its first few episodes, it plays well to utilize the evil alter-ego and doesn't brush it off as a gimmick or a spur of the moment episode plotline.

The Goodwin Games (FOX)
Sad news to start off: the first season order was cut from 13 episodes to just 7. Apparently it's due to the overabundance of the FOX comedy line-up but... you never really know. The Goodwin Games is a family comedy between three siblings who must complete a series of games where only one will win their father's inheritance. The main reason I want to see the pilot episode is because of Becki Newton. I loved her on Ugly Betty and How I Met Your Mother so I want to give her new show a chance.

Deception (NBC)
Same with Do No Harm, I've already watched the pilot episode before the premiere. Deception is a drama that follows an undercover cop looking into the death of her childhood friend at her late friend's wealthy family estate. The pilot episode was alright, though it didn't do enough justice for the first episode. However, I absolutely love Revenge on ABC and Deception seems to have a not-so-but-somewhat-similar concept. I will give the series a shot and see how far I follow.

Cult (The CW)
Cult has been skewered by the critics. I've read the reviews, I've heard the podcasts and even had my own disposition after The Secret Circle (R.I.P) was cancelled. However, I really like The CW and I want to give the show a shot. Cult is a show-within-a-show where the police are investigating the strange mysteries and disappearances relating to a popular hit show, also called Cult. The show features many familiar faces and the concept is intriguing enough to check out the first few episodes.

The Following (FOX)
Has anyone noticed that there are a lot of horror and serial killer-type shows coming out between 2012-2013? The Following is an investigative drama where Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) and his FBI team try to track down an escaped serial killer who plots to resume his work with the help from other killers and associates. It's the most buzzed about show for midseason and many are most likely checking it out to see how the pilot turns out. The trailer looks amazing and I'm crossing my fingers that the dynamic between the main leads keep me going for the rest of the season.

The Carrie Diaries (The CW)
I never watched Sex and the City when it aired. I was eight years old when the show came out and I was definitely too young to even know what it was about. The Carrie Diaries is the 80s prequel that follows Carrie Bradshaw starting off in New York City. Unbeknownst to most people, the show is an adaptation of the Young Adult novel series that is written by Candace Bushnell. I want to check it out the pilot episode because since Gossip Girl ended its run, I would like to have another New York/living life/guilty pleasure type show on television. There is an opening for another teen and 20-something program about gossip, growing up and frenemy tension.

There were a lot of good shows to add to the list and it was a difficult choice. My expectations are open for all the shows I didn't highlight and I'm always open to watching a new program. Would love your suggestions! Though, now that midseason is starting, it means that more cancellations will begin in the next few weeks. Cross your fingers your show makes the renewal cut!

Sad news but not unexpected.

What many have suspected for the last few weeks, CBS and ABC have dealt the axe to a few of their struggling primetime programs. Over at CBS, half-hour comedy Partners was finally let go after experiencing dwindling ratings for its current six episodes. The comedy starring Michael Urie and David Krumholtz was assumed to be cancelled early on in the season but was surprisingly kept on air even with lackluster ratings.

The somewhat surprising cancellation news comes from ABC, which decided to cancel both 666 Park Avenue and Last Resort even though many assumed one would make the cut. While both shows delivered less than desired ratings, ABC had originally ordered two extra scripts for each drama - a sign that normally shows a vote confidence from the network. The bright side for the supernatural drama and the military drama is that, unlike for Partners, the network will continue to air new episodes and run the entire 13-episode season for each series.

No decision yet has been made about which programs will replace the freshman shows for a midseason run.

Are you shocked about the three cancelled shows? Sound off in the comments below and let me know how you feel about these shows not returning.

A lot of pick-ups this season and very few cancellations so far.

The big U.S. television network CBS has revealed that they have ordered full seasons of their two Thursday night dramas: the Sherlock Holmes-inspired Elementary and the crime drama Vegas. Both rookie shows will receive the final back nine episodes of their first seasons which will bring their total numbers to 22 episodes each.

For the 2012-2013 fall season, CBS delivered the first cancellation with Made In Jersey. No news yet has been revealed about struggling comedy Partners.

What did you think of both shows receiving full season orders? Shout out in the comments and let me know what you thought of the seasons so far.

The season is over and a winner is crowned. Three months have just flown by and with the exception of maybe one rare week, Big Brother 14 was an eventful season. Whether you liked the blindsides or the mist, the final three performed well for a Big Brother season. In a landslide final vote, 21 year old engineering student Ian Terry defeated 28 year old Catholic school teacher Dan Gheesling by a vote of 6-1. Rounding out the finals is Danielle Murphree who was evicted in third place.

Instead of the usual posts, I'll critique the final three and their performance from the whole season. Let's start from jury and work my way up...

Danielle (Third Place)
Emotional gameplay at its finest. Danielle crumbled underneath the pressure and she fell for every lie that was thrown at her. I'm not sure if winning the game was on her agenda compared to finding a boyfriend. The men dominated this season in challenges and only Danielle was the one who proved to play somewhat on the same level playing field. For the choices that she made, Danielle would have never won the final vote. Many considered her to by the sidekick who followed Dan and proving otherwise would be an uphill battle. Though, I give credit to where credit's due. Her name was thrown around MANY times for eviction, she was an early personality target and nearly the last person evicted on Dan's team. She learned how to play the game well and I wish she played it without Dan at one point. Then we really could have seen if she could sink or swim.

Dan (Second Place)
The strategic mastermind could arguably be the best player this season. He started on a rough patch with Jody and Kara being evicted back-to-back and nearly was eliminated himself when Danielle almost was voted off. Once he joined as a houseguest, Dan became a new man and started creating alliances and breaking them with ease. Many of the key power moves made this year were by Dan and he will go down as one of the best players. Unfortunately for him, he lost in the final vote and it's partially due to his attitude. Dan in season 10 was MUCH more likeable than this Dan. He never had to get his hands bloodied last time around but now his ego this time rubbed the other houseguests the wrong way. It proved his undoing because a personal jury is an angry jury.

Ian (Winner)
The not-so-shocking winner of Big Brother 14. He came for the experience but he's leaving with half a million dollars. Ian's gameplay wasn't showcased like some of the bigger veterans, he performed as well as one of the big power players and made big moves. He had social, strategic and a physical game that proved to win over the jury. Most times when the finale comes down to two people, there's one clear standout but both Ian and Dan proved they deserved the title.
The finale is only a couple of days away and the final 3 have been chosen. Unfortunately for this unlucky houseguest, he was blindsided with only one week to go. It's one thing to be evicted in the first few weeks but to make it (almost) the entire three months and get evicted near the end must be a bitter pill to swallow. He played a pretty athletic game early on and surprisingly was a member of almost every powerful alliance.

With only the finale left to go, there is just one more jury spot left to be filled. Until then, the sixth jury member and latest person evicted from the game is Shane, the 26 year old house flipper from Vermont.

Let's Meet Shane...

On Day 1, Shane was selected by Big Brother 12 veteran Britney to be on her team along with Willie and JoJo. While his team suffered in the early weeks with Willie's expulsion and JoJo's eviction, Shane proved to be a tough competitor by winning the first three Power of Veto (POV) competitions and the third Head of Household (HOH). Shane joined two powerful alliances: the 'Silent Six' (Shane/Britney/Dan/Danielle/Frank/Boogie) and the 'Quack Pack' (Shane/Britney/Dan/Danielle/Ian). However, he proved to be closer allies with his former coach Britney and Danielle. He made it to Week 9 but HOH Ian placed him on the block against Jenn. He won his fourth POV of the season and removed himself. Unfortunately for Shane, it was a double eviction week and Dan convinced the next HOH Danielle to remove himself from the block. Shane and Danielle believed the plan was to evict Ian while Dan had another idea. On Day 69, he cast the only vote to evict Shane.

Why Did He Lose?

Shane agreed to a bad decision. With only four people left in the house and his best-friend holding both HOH and POV, it should have been an easy week for him. He was practically guaranteed a Final 3 spot. Dan (who was nominated) convinced Danielle that removing him from the block would be the best decision and that he was on board to evict Ian. Danielle agreed to the plan and confirmed with Shane, who hesitantly agreed as well. What Shane didn't know was that Dan had wanted Shane out of the house instead of Ian. By agreeing with Danielle to remove Dan and subsequently making Shane the replacement nominee, Dan had all the power to evict Shane from the house.

How Could He Stay?

Shane didn't plan on evicting Dan; he was going to evict Ian. He should have never agreed with Danielle to take Dan off the block. His best move to stay in the game was to remind Danielle that he had her best interests in mind and would follow through with the plan. There was no point in using the POV if the alliance of Dan/Danielle/Shane was truly intact. He needed to reiterate to Danielle that she could trust him and that he wanted to make the last vote.

Last Thoughts...

Every houseguest should follow this one rule: never agree to go on the block. Being a 'pawn' is just a nice way of saying that the HOH or the house might consider evicting you if things don't work out. To be fair on Shane's part, he thought he could trust Dan but let's be real... after everything that happened this season, he should have known better. I hope Shane has fun at the jury house and that he can finally end his showmance.
Two houseguests were evicted this week but the first was eliminated days earlier. She has played the role of floater quite well until she chose a side after being nominated on the block. Unbeknownst to the majority of viewers, nobody really noticed her until the numbers started to dwindle. It's a great strategy that has worked well in the past.

Since this evicted houseguest has been voted off in the latter part of the season, she'll return on finale night to decide which player will win the prize. She will be the fifth jury member. The next person evicted from the game is Jenn, the 37 year old musician from Brooklyn.

Let's Meet Jenn...

Jenn is the tattooed former member of the metal rock band, Kittie. On Day 1, she was chosen, along with Frank and Ian, by Big Brother All-Stars winner Boogie to be on his team. Jenn sat pretty in the background for the majority of the game and played the role of house floater; rivaling such notable floaters from previous seasons. When the coaches entered the game, Jenn felt abandoned by her former coach and relaxed with other floaters Wil and Ashley in the backyard. She really started to play the game during Week 6 when Head of Household (HOH) Shane made her the replacement nominee against Boogie. In Week 7, she won the critical Power of Veto (POV) that saved Dan from eviction but after Ian won HOH two weeks later, he made Jenn his target. On Day 67, Jenn was evicted by a vote of 2-0.

Why Did She Lose?

Jenn played the majority of the game in the background - I'm not even sure if she knew she was playing Big Brother. After she was nominated by Shane, she started to gain some sense and learn more about how to play. It was very reminiscent of Porsche last season but Jenn didn't have any top-tier alliances left to help her. Wil was evicted, Ashley campaigned against her (also evicted), Boogie was gone and Frank was recently sent packing. She did have the alliance of Dan and Danielle who legitimately worked with her for a Final Three deal. However, Ian (the HOH) was still pro-Quack Pack alliance and made Jenn his target. Dan, Danielle and Jenn had originally planned to get out Ian but were forced to target Shane (much to Danielle's dismay). For the plan to work, Shane couldn't win POV but he did and Danielle was the replacement. She had more friends in the house and the Quack Pack alliance still dominated in numbers. Jenn was never really part of any powerful alliances early on and since she only started playing halfway through the game, none of her connections were there save or help her.

How Could She Stay?

Jenn needed to make the right moves. Without any of her previous friends left in the game, she had to rely on herself and the only smart move left was to get Ian to turn on Dan. The Shane/Danielle alliance was powerful but the Dan/everyone alliance was an epic monster. With him out of the way, everyone else had a better shot to win. Jenn should have confronted Ian and give some sense to the kid and explain that Dan was a fire that needed to be put out. The Quack Pack alliance had to be split up and Dan blindsided but it never happened. Dan's Mist worked again.

Jenn's experience can be explained in one word: mysterious. Nobody noticed her, she barely had any airtime, could not win a single competition except once, and never was the target till near the end. I liked her as a character (and to a lesser extent, a competitor) later on but it irritates me when houseguests (who never watched a single episode before playing) get a chance to play. When she realized she was in a game, Jenn really started to play but it was too late in the season. Luckily for her though, she won't have the record as most useless player who did nothing all season - that's still Adam from Big Brother 13.
Frank was the first person to go during the double eviction but another soon followed. This houseguest has equally been placed on the block multiple times and ranks as the biggest floater this season. While I won't miss his yelling in the diary room, he never had a shot to win. Surprisingly, he was an alternate since another male houseguest backed out from playing - glad he got a shot which other alternates never really get.

This player will be the fourth jury member and will help Ashley, Britney and Frank determine which player will win on Finale Night. Until then, the next player evicted from the game is Joe, the 41 year old chef from Indiana.

Let's Meet Joe...

Joe was the house chef who had a penchant for yelling in the diary room. On Day 1, he was selected by Big Brother 6 veteran and coach Janelle to join her team, along with Wil and Ashley. Joe never won a single competition or was given safety by Janelle. He was nominated plenty of times but was never the target; he was always the pawn. During the second double eviction of the summer, he survived the first eviction against Frank but he was nominated against Ian by Head of Household (HOH) Dan. Unfortunately for Joe, Ian won Power of Veto (POV) and saved himself. On Day 62, Joe was evicted by a vote of 3-0.

Why Did He Lose?

Joe could never find footing in the house. Sure, he coasted and provided competitors with an extra vote they needed to evict a threat. The problem was that no one took him serious enough to want to work with him beyond a voting stance. Being a floater is a great way to survive the early weeks and stay under-the-radar but the strategy can't win the game. Joe tried to convince those around him to work in powerful alliances but his appeal didn't lead to any true partnerships; he was no strategist and he definitely wasn't an athlete. Once the teams were dissolved, his "alliance" of Janelle, Ashley and Wil imploded when Janelle was evicted and neither Ashley or Wil warned him ahead of time. He was left in the game on his own and it was only a matter of time before Joe was finally evicted.

How Could He Stay?

Joe needed to improve his image. He couldn't win any challenges which meant that his social game and alliances were all that he could offer (he didn't really do well). After Janelle was evicted, he played it smart by laying low and letting the bigger threats target each other, but he didn't use that time to create new alliances with players that he didn't connect with before. If he had sided in saving Britney, he could have become a member of another powerful alliance against Dan, Frank and Jenn (Danielle would have been evicted at that point). Actually making a moving when he was presented with the opportunity could have helped Joe.

Did I think Joe could win Big Brother 14? No. He wasn't one of the powerful players nor could he convince the others to actually give him a vote. He did make it far and I have to applaud him because most players could never make it to September, let alone a jury spot. Chances are this will be the last we'll see of him and I hope he had some fun playing. I will say that after Joe and also Hayden from Big Brother 12, houseguests really need to stop screaming in the diary room! There are 98 microphones... we can hear you just fine.
