Welcome everyone to the night where awards are plenty, CBS shows get free promo and fandoms lose hours of sleep by voting online: the People's Choice Awards! On Wednesday night, the 40th People's Choice Awards premiered on CBS with 2 Broke Girls' stars Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs claiming hosting duty for the night.

After a lengthy (and dare I say, excessive) cameo-filled opening number, Sandra Bullock led the pack for the rest of the night picking up six awards for "Favourite Movie Actress", "Favourite Comedic Movies Actress", "Favourite Dramatic Movie Actress", and three movie awards for Gravity and The Heat which she received with co-star Melissa McCarthy. Justin Timberlake was hot on her trail, picking up three music awards for the night. Britney Spears also claimed her first ever PCA award for "Favourite Pop Artist".
On the TV side, shows like The Good Wife, The Big Bang Theory and Castle picked up a few awards. For the new entrants, Reign won for "Favourite New TV Drama", "Favourite New TV Comedy" went to Super Fun Night, and both Sarah Michelle Gellar (from The Crazy Ones) and Joseph Morgan (from The Originals) won in the acting comedy and drama from a new TV series categories, respectively.
