Big changes are on the horizon for CTV and its sister network CTV Two.
Announced Thursday via two press releases (CTV and CTV Two), the Bell Media channels revealed their new revamped line-ups. The two brand new schedules saw several popular programs switch between the channels, with CTV acquiring more scripted shows while CTV Two retained more established favourites.
On the drama front, new shows heading to CTV will include INTELLIGENCE, Played, Hostages, Believe, The Tomorrow People and the highly anticipated comic book adaptation Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. CTV Two will be adding one brand new drama to its schedule with the historical piece Reign.
CTV's focus is on dramas this year but several new comedies will also be joining the network as well. Mixology, Spun Out, Trophy Wife, The Goldbergs and the return of Kirstie Alley in Kirstie will be the new dramas premiering this fall and midseason. Also revealed is the Canadian adaptation of the popular cooking reality show Masterchef Canada.
Schedule line-ups aren't always about the new shows acquired for the following year, it's also about the network changes. Among the new shows is Person Of Interest which had previously aired on City for the 2012-2013 season. American Idol, which has held its staple on CTV will air primarily on CTV Two midseason while The X Factor holds the spot in the fall.
