The young Ms. Emily Thorne lives! Did anyone really think she would die? The show would be lost without her and then there wouldn't be any real cause for revenge. A new wrench is thrown into the mix and most of the characters are scrambling to pick up the pieces while others are starting to put them together.
In this week's episode of Revenge, Emily suffers from amnesia, Daniel's guilt starts to weigh him down, Nolan gets betrayed by the man he loves, and Victoria gains the upper-hand.
MIND GAMES
Emily's a survivor; she survived the attack from Daniel and managed to swim in the cold nightly water with two gunshot wounds to the stomach. Unfortunately for her, she couldn't make it all the way to freedom and was discovered by a fisherman, nearly succumbing to her wounds. Beyond the physical pain, Emily is suffering from amnesia and can't remember anything from her attack, especially the fact that her new husband tried to kill her. For a second I started to believe this was an act, another ploy by the real Amanda Clarke for her revengenda, until Aiden tried to whisk her away to freedom and she started screaming for help. Emily really does have amnesia - well...for now, at least!
Her memory starts to return when the two most unlikely people trigger something in her mind to start working again. Emily inadvertently admits to Charlotte that her father is David Clarke(!) and her memories return after Jack gives Fauxmanda's locket back to Emily, causing her to remember everything and identify Daniel as the shooter in the process.
SPLASH OF COLOUR
Who shot Emily Thorne? We know the answer but the world wants to know and they've got a suspect in mind. Victoria is the main suspect and the police have reason to believe it's her: she's got no alibi and it's not hidden knowledge that she hates Emily. After being barred from seeing Emily at the hospital, Victoria returns home to find Lydia sitting at her throne (i.e. the calligraphy armchair) and spouting barbs, first about Victoria shooting Emily and then talking about redecorating. Lydia pours her entire glass of red wine onto the chair and breaks the glass before Victoria resists every urge to fight the reigning Grayson mistress.
GUILT BY ASSOCIATION
Daniel's guilt is weighing him down after shooting his lying wife. He finds out Sarah is alive but the guilt is too much for him; he admits to Victoria that he shot Emily and plans to turn himself in. Victoria, never one to stop her obsession with her son, pushes Conrad to save their son by framing Lydia and causing his lover to leave the Hamptons with worries of being implicated. What may go down as one of the best Daniel/Conrad scenes ever, Daniel confronts Conrad about lying to protect him, spurning the help and Conrad in turn says that should Daniel ever commit a crime again, he better pray to God for help as his real father is done with him.
DOUBLE INFINITY
Nolan and Patrick are over yet again. With Emily in the hospital and only family allowed to visit, Nolan tries to see his fallen friend, only to be rebuffed by Victoria. The Grayson Matriarch is none too pleased with Nolan and chastises him for being a part of Emily's lies. When Nolan looks to Patrick for reassurance and help, he's spurned by the man he loves and the two officially break up. Patrick, while feeling betrayed, offers Victoria a tidbit of knowledge to help defeat her enemies: Nolan is hiding a secret box with a double infinity icon behind a painting - the same icon tattooed on Emily's wrist!
MYSTERY WOMAN
A new character is in the mix and she hails from Aiden's past. Emily's nurse, and possibly former acquaintance as well, is a woman named Niko who knows full well about their revengenda plans. She watches over the wounded Ms. Thorne and not only lets it slep that she was searching for Aiden but kisses him! This mystery woman could possibly shed some more light into Aiden's past and could take him away for the future. Seriously, find a way to write him off...

A new year for The Carrie Diaries and the characters are already feeling the pressure. Five episodes left in the season (potentially the series) and several of the characters are trying to handle the new change in the lives. New romance, education, commitment, distance - when the challenge is put forward, which characters will thrive with change and which will slowly crumble through the remainder of the season? We'll find out soon enough!
This week on The Carrie Diaries, Dorrit throws an impromptu house party while Tom is away working, Mouse and Donna find common ground, and Carrie feels the pain of long distance dating.
HOUSE PARTY HANGOVER
Dorrit,
while normally relegated to the role of bratty sister, is taking the
lead this episode by throwing a house party while Tom is away to land a
new boyfriend. Earlier in the day, Donna LaDonna spots the younger
Bradshaw at school flirting with a typical bad boy and offers her the
"best" advice to catch her new man: throw a party. Dorrit sets the
events in motion and spends the entire evening playing it coy with the
bad boy by eating a pot-brownie, throwing herself at the guy and
ignoring his nice best friend, who is clearly interested in Dorrit after he lied to protect her.
(Anyone else think they'll start dating soon?)
Her original plan to get the bad boy works and the two sneak away after the party, snuggling up on her
bed until the next morning. Downside? He has a girlfriend! She throws
the cheater out and returns to clean the house, not revealing what she did.
WORLDS APART

Long distance dating can make or break relationships and Carrie is learning firsthand that it takes a lot of work to connect hours apart. After getting some troubling advice from Larissa about long distance dating, Carrie is surprised when Sebastian arrives in Castlebury and announces that he's going to move back home for her - one of the warning signs that Larissa mentioned earlier. She tries to ignore her worries, throwing herself into the mood with Sebastian but nothing is ever too picturesque when dealing with the heart and Carrie Bradshaw.
Dorrit's party throws a wrench into the nightly plans and Carrie is kept away from her guy as she tries to keep the house intact. Even Sebastian's Mother shows up to kill the mood; she refuses to help him move back home and for a while, Carrie is left wondering if she wants him back. Sebastian's Father offers to pay his way and he rents Larissa's old apartment to be close to Carrie. Moving for someone is never a great option for the relationship, it can either help or hurt the relationship and we'll find out if Larissa's words will foreshadow the death to the romance.
THE DOWNSIDE OF GETTING WHAT YOU WANT
Mouse and Donna are two completely different characters: one is obsessive-compulsive and studious while the other is materialistic and flirty (I chose a nicer word here). Neither have much in common except their need to compete. Mouse is feeling empty after accomplishing her goal of getting into Harvard - it was everything that she wanted and now that motivation is gone. Donna, on the other hand, has dated every single available (in her words, "attractive") guys in school and there's no one left. The two bond for the first time, competing over a game of beer pong and end up spooning in a drunken haze after the party.
THE "I" IN MARRIAGE
Larissa and Harlan, Tom's legal partner, are getting married and they've enlisted Tom's help to prepare the pre-nup. He turns down the offer at first but ends up spending the entire night helping the pair allocate their assets, from the naughty items (like a collection of porn) to the naughty clauses (i.e. sex four times a week). Everything is easy at first but Larissa refuses to move in with Harlan, demanding her own individuality to not lose herself in the marriage. Before the engagement is called off, Tom rectifies the manner and Harlan offers to buy Larissa a new pad (the one next door to his) so that they'll be together but not together. It sounds good at first - I would love to have the size of that giant apartment!

Change can be a good thing.
It's only the third day in 2014 and I'm ready to update a few items online. For those of you who have followed this site in the last year, I love experimenting with the look and feel of this blog. New colours, adding in the main slider, new features and creating a TV humour Tumblr were just a few new things for 2013.
Casually through the year, I've been toying around with a few ideas and thoughts for the site. I started this blog almost four years ago back in college when I wanted to improve my writing style and talk about life. My style has changed and the focus of this blog has shifted to hobbies instead (while still casually writing about life). The one thing that stayed the same was the name of this blog: The Unwritten Journal. What started as a temporary fix and placeholder in 2010 has stayed with me throughout the years, but I've always known that I wanted to change the name to be more attuned to the focus on the blog now. Suffice it to say, I've spent a little too much time thinking about this and I think I've come up with a name.
Throughout the next few days and weeks I'll be updating the site, fixing a few of the colours and adding the new name. This also means a new URL link to the website as I will be changing that as well. I will still be keeping the current URL but it will be focused elsewhere. The content of the website will not change - there will still be a focus on TV, movies, video games and other topics that I post about - only the name and colour scheme will be updated.
Sorry in advance if a few technical problems should arise; definitely let me know if anything comes up. In the meantime, I hope you're excited for new things as I am - it's going to be a great year!
